Have you ever left a theater in the middle of a movie?

Well?

And what movie and why.

Fox 09-03-2010 01:02 PM

I did leave a theater in the winter of 2007. Late night showing of Half Nelson and I don't give a fuck how many awards Ryan Gosling won or was nominated for over that film, I gave it a full hour and I was absolutely depressed and bored out of my mind with everything about the film - the look, the characters, the dialogue, the conflicts. Couldn't stay. Got up and walked out.

D Mac 09-03-2010 01:09 PM

No, never.

Lock Jaw 09-03-2010 01:20 PM

Walked out of Casino Royale the first time I saw it.

To go to the bathroom to expel waste. Don't know what happened, perhaps something with the popcorn. I wanted to hold out, but I literally couldn't. Stomach was rebelling big time.

Fox 09-03-2010 01:23 PM

That's fine, Dr. Perfect, but did you walk out on it?

Lock Jaw 09-03-2010 02:04 PM

Why would you even walk in to it in the first place?

Rammsteinmad 09-03-2010 02:06 PM

Hell no. If I'm paying to see a film, I'm staying to watch it til the end.

Savio 09-03-2010 02:17 PM

Me and a buddy got fed up with "Knight and Day" at the end. walked out with probably a minute to go.

Shitty ass movie though...Black out and everything is solved?

The Truman Show

Because a tornado wrecked our shit

Swiss Ultimate 09-03-2010 02:34 PM

I walked out of a Stephen King movie. You know, the one about the writer from Maine.

Buzzkill 09-03-2010 02:45 PM

Hmm pretty sure I walked out on Miss Congeniality when I was like 9 lol

Fignuts 09-03-2010 03:41 PM

Chain Reaction. Because it sucked.

Chavo Classic 09-03-2010 04:02 PM

Walked out of the remakes of both the Producers, and Psycho after half an hour.

Also walked out of Shoot 'em up but everyone else seemed to be enjoying it, and stayed put. I had to quietly walk back to my seat after five minutes stood outside in the lobby waiting for everyone.

I don't have any hesitance about walking out, just like I'd leave half a pint behind if the pub I was in was shitty.

El Capitano Gatisto 09-03-2010 04:05 PM

Why wouldn't you just sink your pint?

The Mask 09-03-2010 04:11 PM

i walked out of the sea inside, but only cause it was a "film tba" thing where basically you go in a screen, they show you an unreleased film entirely at random and ask your opinion at the end, plus if you don't like it you can walk out within the first half hour and get a refund.

was in a grim mood that day and it was a bit heavy for me so i left. that's the one and only time i think.

My thoughts exactly. Take 5 seconds to down it, and be on your way.

Hanso Amore 09-03-2010 04:14 PM

And no, never. I have driven out of a drive in with like 2 minutes left to beat the crowd.

Verbose Minch 09-03-2010 08:30 PM

Just about walked out of The Other Guys about half way through.

Triple A 09-03-2010 08:38 PM

The Brothers Grimm

Lord of the Rings

Wanted to during The Hurt Locker for like 95% of the movie

Lock Jaw 09-03-2010 08:42 PM

I usually like to watch a movie all the way through, whether I'm paying for it or not.

I think the only movie I have ever intentionally turned off (at home) was Talledega Nights.

Damn walking out of The Sea Inside and Half Nelson, two of the decades best movies :(.

Walked out of this awful movie called Baaria at the film festival last year.

ClockShot 09-03-2010 09:32 PM

Chronicles of Narnia. Only because the movie suddenly shut off and the lights came on. Everybody was sitting there wondering what was going on. A couple people left and came back and said we had to evacuate because of a gas leak.

Was close to leaving Exorcist: The Beginning. My friends dragged me to it and luckily, fell asleep. Saved me the trouble of causing a scene and saying this movie sucked.

Optimus Bone 69 09-03-2010 09:37 PM

Oscar many years ago it was pish

Nowhere Man 09-03-2010 10:11 PM

I've walked out on Jurassic Park 3, the Skeleton Key, and Shooter. Not the worst movies I've ever seen (that would be Ultraviolet), but something about those movies just reall made me hate them.

PorkSoda 09-03-2010 10:24 PM

Me and a friend walked out of Sweeney Todd because we both were a little pissed because we didn't want to watch a musical.

Lock Jaw 09-03-2010 11:14 PM

Then why did you go watch a musical?

Droford 09-04-2010 12:04 AM

Much like I wont leave a baseball game until the last out, I won't leave a theatre til the credits are completely finished.

Shaggy 09-04-2010 12:15 AM

Jerry Mcguire...because of a family emergency...

Never really walked out on one other than that....

Wanted to walk out on...

10,000 BC
Miami Vice

The Genius 09-04-2010 01:01 AM

Fred Claus after about 45 mins into it.

MoFo 09-04-2010 01:33 AM

'Open Water'.

Walked out and into another screening, 'Collateral', I think.

Perry Saturn 09-04-2010 02:32 AM

Never walked out. Wanted to but didnt

LoDownM 09-04-2010 04:00 AM

Had I drove the day I went to see Wild Wild West at the dollar theater here, I would of walked out.

Does this have to do with getting your money's worth?

Sixx 09-04-2010 05:29 AM

Went with my buddy once, both shitfaced, we bought tickets went to see the movie and were like "Umm, what movie is it anyway?". Then the movie started and there was this woman screaming in subway and we were like "Fuck, some crazy ass bitch going mental in subway, let's get out of here". It was after about 2 minutes of the movie. Turned out it was Stigmata, a movie I later enjoyed.

V 09-04-2010 05:31 AM

never actually walked out. Don't think I ever would, but even if I wanted to I don't think I"d be able to because I'm usually with a group of people.

Movies I really considered it though were Inspector Gadget and The Last Airbender. Generally only watch movies that are supposed to be really good, in theatres.

Kane Knight 09-04-2010 07:23 AM

`Hunt for the Red October, due to illness (Had a serious case of the shits), Encino Man, because it was so fucking awful that even the friends who dragged me to see it wanted to leave.

I rarely go to a movie I'm not already pretty sure I want to see a lot.

thedamndest 09-04-2010 12:43 PM

I don't think I've walked out but I have fallen asleep. Star Wars Episode II during the second time I saw it and Insomnia.

Pretty ironic.

I fell asleep on the grand premiere of Lord of The Rings. Tickets were mad expensive and I only went cause all my buddies were going and were praising it so much. This movie makes me fall asleep every single time.
