WHAT WOULD HAPPEN if Triple H's didn't tear his quad in 2001

How do you think they would've included Triple H into the mix if he didn't tear his quad in 2001.

He was a heel with Austin in the 2 Man Powertrip, but then you had the InVasion angle coming in. Would he be heel with Austin in the InVasion? Would he have to turn on Austin to join Team WWF?

What was the general plan? Or was it booked on the fly?

He's pretty loyal to the WWF...but then again Steph was leading the ECW roster so maybe he'd join the Alliance...after all he IS a former ECW talent like Austin, and it would have made more sense than Angle...

The Naitch 10-06-2010 07:19 PM

you mean former WCW talent. Or was he in ECW? I dunno

thing is they assume just because a certain wrestler was technically a part of WCW, that they should've joined the Alliance.

But Triple H's stint in WCW is forgetable. The casual fan doesn't associate Triple H with WCW

Triple H was in WCW as Terra Ryzing and Jean-Paul Levesque from like 1993-1994. I think he would have taken Kurt Angle's role in the angle or potentially Jericho's role in the storyline.

Yea my bad that was supposed to be WCW...

Triple H would have never wrestled in a bingo hall after his stellar match against Alex Wright at Starrcade 1994.

I think he would have had Test's spot but in a bigger way.

Not on topic, but I LOVE the Steppenwolf art in your signature. You read Hesse?

It's been pretty widely said that Triple H's quad tear was the reason they pulled the trigger on The Invasion.
They had big plans for the 2 Man Power Trip, and when HHH went down, they really didn't have anything big going on. They rushed into the Invasion because of a lack of a storyline. Rock was also gone at the time, and Benoit sustained a huge injury shortly after.
As far as I've always heard, the plan was to ease into the invasion further down the road more properly, with more players involved. They got desperate and blew the proverbial load.

So we can all blame the sub-standard 'InVasion' on Triple H and his quads of doom? Nice.

Jericho probably doesn't end up as the 1st ever Undisputed champion since it occurred around November/December of 2001 and lasted until Triple H returned to win the Rumble and later the title at Wrestlemania.

He ended up benefiting the most because of Triple H being hurt along with other wrestlers leaving, hurt, or not arriving until 2002 (ex. Flair, Hogan).

Jeritron 10-10-2010 01:25 AM

I'm not sure if he benefited the most from that. He was next in line to get a title push before the Invasion started.
They had already been working him into main events with Stone Cold. I think if anything the Invasion stunted that push for a while.
When the time came to crown an undisputed champion, he got the nod because he was still next in line for a big push. But Triple H and the nWo rained on that parade huge.

The most likely scenario is that Triple H would have turned face. If Triple H hadn't torn his quad, I think Trips would have turned face about a month later. Taker and Kane would have gotten the better of Austin and HHH in their brief feud, and I believe Austin and Vince would have started to distance themselves from Triple H. My guess is that it also would have involved Triple H wanting a World Title shot.

A Triple H/Austin feud also would have prevented Benoit and Jericho getting their matches with Austin in my opinion. Thankfully - this didn't happen.
