Since he's married to Jennifer Hudson, he basically gives WWE a golden ticket to the mainstream. Unless he fucks up bad, or gets a severe injury, I don't think WWE will let him go for a while.

Wouldn't go that far to just fire him but probably give him more time developing in FCW once Nexus ends or give him less speaking roles to hide his weak promo ability.
WWE was smart to not create a Nexus v2 with NXT season 2 wrestlers since majority of them were bad in the ring or on the mic and just sent the rest back to development. |
He's someone who could have used a couple of years in developmental instead of being rushed up to the main roster so quickly.

There are a lot more blander wrestlers in WWE. Otunga doesn't deserve to get fired yet. He is still pretty green in the ring.

When he first was on NXT, I thought he had a lot of potential. However, once he got in the ring, it was all over for me.

He's horrible, but voncouch hit it on the head - they are keeping him around for his marriage to Jennifer Hudson and the easy press it can pull in. If it wasn't for that, I seriously doubt he'd have been called up to the roster, or even given a chance.

I'm not really a big fan or big naysayer of anyone in Nexus aside from Barrett. I am a huge fan of Barrett's, and the stable/angle as a whole, but everyone else in Nexus sort of just "is" to me.
I'm not sure what they'll all do after Nexus dispands, but they all serve their role as henchmen to me and I don't feel strongly either way beyond that. |
I don't think he is really that bad, he actually can deliver a promo and will get better in the ring with time, I just think that he will be better off in a tag team so he can develop more

His promos always feel forced and ham-fisted to me, and his in-ring work is generic and equally clumsy.
They'll keep him around for his celebrity ties, but I don't really see his status within the company rising any higher than it is now. |
I think David Otunga will be a similar case to The Miz. The guy hasn't been wrestling that long. To say he is green is entirely true, but it's too early to even determine whether or not the guy has talent. To be fair, even though he's banging Jennifer Hudson, there hasn't seemed to have been any backlash about Otunga being "too green" on the dirt sheets. Personally, I hope the guy gets a lot better very fast.
But yeah, he's definitely the weakest member of Nexus. |
The guy is worse than Bobby Lashley (and even has a higher-pitched voice than him) and I didn't find Lashley all that appealing..... I'm sure is he would have been left in developmental for a while he'd have a chance to improve in the ring, but from what I have seen, I'm not convinced that he isn't the worst 'wrestler' in WWE currently.....

He is pretty terrible to watch. Not passionate or charismatic or interesting at all. I liked Michael Tarver a lot more than this douche.

The reason why they are keeping Nexus together is to have him on the show for his "star power" but not wrestle at all.....Backstage that was the whole purpose of nexus.
