Could Zach Gowen have ever made it in the WWE?

Follow-up, if the WWE had kept him around for a few years and released him, would TNA pick him up?

Depends on yr definition of 'made it'.

He had one leg bro, hardly world title material.

He was Tenacious Z in TNA before ever stepping foot in the WWE ring.

This. As inspiring and heart-warming a one-legged wrestler is, the best he could have received (whilst being realistic and logical) would have been the tag titles.

I'd say he's 'made it' just by wrestling.

He had a feud involving Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon. I'd say he got a lot farther than he really should have.

Not a chance.... he was lucky to be on TV......

Could have become a solid midcarder down the road peharps but I think since he was a little too young at the time he was hired it seemed liked his situation was his whole gimmick not just part of it.

I like to think that when he left the company, Vince told him that he'd make it big if he only grew another leg.

He should have done the Bionic Leg gimmick.

Naw, he was a walking novelty. Good for a couple of appearances. That's all.

The only thing WWE missed the boat on is putting him in the Royal Rumble and doing a thing where he's eliminated, but his leg falls off and THROUGH the ropes and lays on the apron for the rest of the match. Then you have a short feud where he claims he's the rightful Rumble winner because both feet did not hit the floor.

they'd have to pick him up. I mean, he's not getting up on his own.

Remember reading at the time that noone wanted to job to him, but the Rumble idea was so obvious i can't believe they didnt try it.

But would he ever have been anything special? No way.

On an unrelated note, Colin Delaney is exellent in Chikara. But how the hell a guy his size even got into the WWE in the first place is amazing.

well he cud have main evented wrestlemania by winning the rumble if he was given a chance I mean we all know it would have been impossible for both feet to hit the floor...

The problem is any wrestler who loses to a one legged man instantly becomes "a joke".

Unless it was Chris Jericho or something. Jericho could pull it off.

Yeah, I thought I remember reading that he got a big head after the Hogan angle and that noone liked him. Even so, I don't see much a future for him beyond that. He was a novelty and they got the most mileage out of it with the Lesnar and Hogan angles.

I'm not sure he would have made it as a wwe star, but he could have always been used for small skits or something in that nature.

If they kept the Cruiserweight belt around, I bet Gowen would have held it at least once...or the tag belts...I got the perfect tag partner for him

However, I heard he had a attitude problem, which was one of the reasons he got released. Also apparently did some sort of drug or whatever since Gowen just recently did the WWE Rehab program.

Should come back and form a tag team with Zack Ryder as '3 legs and 2 z's' and have Ryder show Gowan how to pick up chicks.

They also missed the boat in putting him in an ass kicking contest with his opponent having his leg tied behind his back.

He did his part, a month longer and he would have been bood out the building. Think of a match with him and a divas match in the same show everynight.

He never got a chance to get a leg up in the wwe

They should have put him in the Divas division.


Imagine how much THQ would hate WWE if they kept him around, making them make a whole new engine just to suffice to Gowen
