Shawn Michaels: Can we ever take him at his word?

"Im never going to wrestle again".

Interesting, didn't he lie in Bret Hart's eye about not knowing anything about the Montreal Screwjob?

Londoner 02-20-2011 01:10 PM

i don't believe any wrestler who says they'll never wrestle again these days.

ITS ALL A WORK!

Swiss Ultimate 02-20-2011 01:10 PM

Jesus would not approve.

Fox 02-20-2011 01:16 PM

Foley said the same thing and then he came back. I didn't really care that he came back since he had an absolutely killer match against Randy Orton at Backlash 04, but then he whored himself out to TNA and did a bunch of shitty matches for them.

It's wrestling. Nobody retires unless they're dead or crippled.

Swiss Ultimate 02-20-2011 01:18 PM

Let's see what happens with Rock at Wrestlemania.

Anyways, you gotta question the official story or you're not doing your job.

Xero 02-20-2011 01:20 PM

He will wrestle again in some capacity. Maybe not today, maybe not next year, hell, maybe not within the next decade. But before Shawn Michaels is gone from this earth, he will wrestle another match.

Swiss Ultimate 02-20-2011 01:21 PM

Hope it's with Jericho.

Xero 02-20-2011 01:25 PM

My bet would be with Triple H.

Just think, 10 years down the line, Hunter's in the Vince McMahon spot, and WrestleMania 37 has no big matches besides Braden "Original Legend" Walker vs. Percy "Showtime" Watson for the WWE Championship. He's gotta look to his blood. He's gotta look to the Kliq.

Adam Evans will be in the WWE by then and there will be no need.

Is this thread really necessary? If HBK and Bret buried the hatchet, the IWC can too.

But no, I think he stays retired. He was pretty miffed at what Flair did after he got his big send off, and I think HBK is both happy and financially secure enough not to wrestle another match and tarnish his legacy.

Londoner 02-20-2011 01:46 PM

I'll quote you on that one day Snowden, ONE DAY.

Since when is Michaels the authority of what Ric Flair does with himself after he retires. Shouldn't Ric Flair be the authority of what Ric Flair does with himself when he retires?

HBK was Flairs last match in the WWE. They gave him a big send off to the night after. You can understand Shawn's point of view if you step back from your ignorant trolling for a second.

How is he trolling? He's right. So what if Flair told HBK he would retire? If Flair has financial obligations or whatever to meet those would come way ahead of what he told HBK.

Cause he's not understanding the emotion of the whole point of Flair "retiring", i can see why Shawn would be annoyed about it. Not that he has the final word or whatever.

Shaved Monkey 02-20-2011 02:21 PM

I never got that whole emotion of Flair retiring thing. Did people actually believe that he was going to stay retired?

Fox 02-20-2011 02:28 PM

Flair obviously came out of retirement to set the world on fire with his amazing in-ring skills whilst working with Hulk Hogan to bring TNA to #1 and crush the WWE who did him so wrong.

...that, or he's just a spotlight loving maniac who can't stay away from the crowds, even shitty ones like TNA's.

Honestly, he could've kept working for the WWE in a backstage or promotional capacity, and possibly an on-air role as a GM or Manager, and continued to make good money there. He just couldn't STAY retired.

Again though, why should he?

Swiss Ultimate 02-20-2011 02:41 PM

He looks horrible and is horrible in the ring.

Because I don't indulge in Shawn's package while playing with his ballsack with two fingers--it means I'm a troll?

I can't take such irrational bullshit and won't. No one should put up with that.

Like someone else said "why the emotion"---jesus, some of these wrestlers need to GET OVER THEMSELVES.

Shawn overreacted like a child over Ric's retirement (lack thereof), and this is coming from a non Flair fan....

Won't disagree with the first part, he is looking rough but I'll for sure argue with you on the second part. He still has the capability to have great matches (and he absolutely has in the last few years) and can still be something special if used the right way.

Calm down, troll. All i'm saying is Flair should respect what Shawn put into what should've been his "final match" and the big send off they gave him. By going to TNA and wrestling in doing so, he isn't respecting that. He could've made money other ways, like just beign a manager or whatever else.

And boo fucking hoo, Shawn gets no sympathy from me after giving his word to Bret Hart, looking him in the eye that he knew nothing about the screwjob. That's called being a piece of shit.

Oh and Ric has something in common with Shawn Michaels other than being in the crossroads of their respective careers.

it's called EGO. Shawn retired, yet made 9 appearances since that WM loss to Taker. They HAVE to be in the spotlight. It's Apollo Creed syndrome.

BTW, is it true pineapple juice makes it taste better?

Londoner 02-20-2011 03:17 PM

"boo fucking hoo"

great response as always. also seems to me you're taking this waaaaaay too personally.

Rammsteinmad 02-20-2011 03:19 PM

He'll probably wrestle in a spot similar to Ricky Steamboat at Wrestlemania 25, where we haven't seen him for a while but he's come out of retirement to teach some young punk a lesson aka. put him over. :y:

Supreme Olajuwon 02-20-2011 03:19 PM

I gotta get Gregory Helms' thoughts on this before I make up my mind.

Dude, you took it personally first because I dared to call out Perfect Shawn Michaels.

Never said he was the authority on Flair's lifestyle. I said he had negative feelings towards his returning, and wouldn't want to do the same thing in part because of the way he felt about Flair's handling of his retirement (and because I feel like that opinion is emblematic of how he feels about wrestling send-offs at this point in his career). The right-ness or wrong-ness of HBK's feelings are completely inconsequential to what I'm saying.

Erm, no. I was trying to get you to understand his point of view. You are just trying to seem like some tough guy who goes against popular opinion.

Do you say that to everyone who disagrees with your opinion?

And the tough guy thing sounds like you have an ax to grind about something.

Since when is someone who doesn't fawn over Shawn Michaels a tough guy?

Please elaborate.

1 was Raw after 'Mania, 1 was Raw after his HOF announcement...the other 7 were non televised?

MoFo 02-20-2011 04:31 PM

Has he even said hes coming back or something?

I must be missing the point.

It must have been another night that he gave the sweet chin music to Alberto Del Rio then.

Nothing says closure in the wrestling world like superkicking Alberto Del Rio. :nono:

whiteyford 02-20-2011 04:38 PM

That was either the night of his HOF announcement or the week after, hardly call 1 superkick him coming out of retirement though, more like hyping up the HOF.

You sill bastard, he's a Christian. Christians don't lie. That's why they're the watermark for character and honesty in our society.
