Austin vs Punk @ Mania?
 

Nexus leader CM Punk and WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin had a strong exchange of words on Twitter on Wednesday, with Punk challenging Austin to a fight.

It all started when Paul Heyman's site Heyman Hustle site posted a fantasy matchup between Austin and Punk as part of their promotion of the WWE All Stars video game (Buy Here from Amazon.com).

In a followup to the story, Punk tweeted the following:

"I like how THQ acts like they don't know what would happen if @steveaustinBSR and I were to lock horns. Everybody knows. SXE > Beer."

Punk followed up with: GTS > stunner.

Within 3 minutes, Punk's tweet earned over a hundred re-tweets. It was trending throughout North America within two hours. It trended globally this morning.

Austin replied to punk - and says he's got a can a whoop ass with Punk's name on it:

@CMPunk alright Punk...you just crossed the line...i'll be seeing your ass in Atlanta.

@CMPunk Alright son...I'm about to get off this treadmill and RUN to Atlanta..bringing some extra cans of Whoop Ass!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

@CMPunk What are you doing son, asking for advice/lessons etc.? I'll give your pierced lipped ass a couple lessons when I see you. Out.

The Heyman Hustle site also posted gallery of pictures featuring the fantasy matchup of Austin vs. Punk that started this whole business.

Yeah that would be great but Austin is gonna be the ref for Cole/King so I doubt he will do anything else big, maybe a backstage promo with Punk or something. Anyway, if he did get involved after the match or something, it would be cool for Orton to RKO Austin.

So we're gonna get a Piledriver and a Stunner in the same match? Hell yeah!

I'm hoping for some sort of backstage segment with Austin and The Rock at Wrestlemania.

It would be sweet to see some kind of interaction between Austin/Rock since they'll both be there. A Rock/HHH segment would be cool too, given their history and classic feuds and promos. It doesn't even even have to be anything big or long, short and sweet would be just fine.

CM Punk and The Miz vs. Rock and Austin would be a seriously amazing main event for a ppv. Imagine the promos.

I'd mark out if Stone Cold finished serving as the Special Guest Referee, and then a car runs Austin over. It turns out to be set-up by Punk. :shifty:

No interest in a match, but a bit of back and forth in promos I can go with that.

Sounds like a work to me. I'd watch it though.

Austin's way too hurt. Wouldn't count on him wrestling an actual match, maybe something like Hart did at most but before his last match he was really cutting it close. His legs randomly spaz out on him, his neck and spine are all kinds of fucked up. During his last match with Rock, he should not have wrestled at all.

Obviously a work, but still cool for guys to use twitter like that.

Hoping we get a couple of segments at Mania and Raw with this, even if its just Punk getting stunnered.

Should've done this months ago, why fight Orton when you can have the original?

Just think about the attitude era, Punk vs Stone Cold back then I think could've drawn alot.

It would draw just as much now.

You forget we must compare everything to the attitude era. All the way down to announce tables, stairs, chairs, and even turnbuckles.

Switch back to the original raw during the attitude era while we are at it!

With Rock as "The Host" I'm hoping that's what his role will be. Rock could be funny with a lot of the roster, Big Show, Santino, Austin, HHH, Mr Nash.

But this is W NOWRESTLING E so knowing our luck the segments will try and crowbar snoop dogg and snooki in everwhere.
