Does anyone actually think Mark Henry can win at NOC?
Is the WWE actually convincing anyone that Mark Henry has any chance? So far their feud has been boring, despite me being a fan of Mark Henry. It seems like the old formula, Henry is built up as a monster heel to face the face champ for the title and the face champ overcomes the challenge and wins.
Does anyone actually think Henry could win? I can guarantee that Henry won't win. |
Nah.
|
Gonna call a crazy RKO finish right now
|
WILL he win? No. The title has been bounced around too much the past few months. I don't see Orton losing for a while. I could see him holding to Mania.
CAN he win? I really think he could, given the right circumstances. He is enormously over as a heel, and he plays his character perfectly. In fact, I want to see a Henry title win at this point. Maybe not at NOC, but I'd love to see him hold it and have a dominating title run. It would also be huge for whoever beats him. There's no downside I see to Henry winning at this point. Danielson vs Henry could be awesome if built up right. It'd require Danielson to snap and have a mean streak going into Mania. It would be good TV. |
I can't believe I actually want Mark Henry to be in a "Main Event" at a WrestleMania, but I do. He's just that good right now.
|
I like your optimism Xero, sadly can't see it happening.
|
Woah woah woah... no matter how well he is booked, Mark Henry should not be anywhere near the main event of Wrestlemania.
|
Yeah I agree, was gonna say i was referring to the dominant title run bit.

I'll make it clear that I don't want him in the REAL main event. I'm talking Del Rio vs. Edge "main event". And the whole point wouldn't be for Henry to be put over but for him to put someone over huge. A destructive monster being taken down in a title match after a dominating title run would be HUGE for the guy who beats them, and doing it at Mania only adds to the profile level of the win. And I'm not really optimistic here. I don't have faith in WWE doing anything right after dropping the ball with Punk. It's just a hopeful scenario which COULD pan out if the stars aligned. |
Oh, how have WWE dropped the ball with Punk?
|
Nash: Hey guys, I'm here to have a match with CM Punk. No one wants to see it and no one knows who I am, but here I am!
*A few weeks later* Nash: LOL sorry guys, I got a movie. Fuck this build we've been doing. |
Speaking of Punk, he should have a match with Mark Henry.
|
Honestly, yeah, I could see it happening. The title has lost a lot of prestige over the years, and if guys like Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, who haven't been with the company for nearly as long as Henry has, can become "World Heavyweight Champions," then I really don't see why Henry couldn't when he's been on such a hot streak. I think it might be a good move, actually, if someone like Christian showed up and cost Orton the title. They could continue what has been an amazing feud and blow it off at Hell in a Cell in one of the show's titular matches - and hopefully Christian could regain some of the steam that he's lost.
Meanwhile, I could definitely see Henry defending the belt against Sheamus for a couple of PPV's, since both guys have proven that they work well together, and Sheamus could use a bit more upper level exposure. |
would you have sex with that fox?
|
Absolutely.
Also, I do not understand the question. |
I can see him winning, but that's only because I see WWE doing it as a way to say "Thanks for 15 years of service free of any failed drug tests or legal problems" more so than a desire to give him a long reign. Didn't he say he planned on retiring within the next couple of years anyway?

If he does nothing at NOC, you'll have your answer. Could I be wrong? Sure. But from what I've seen with the sloppy booking and ridiculously rushed cop-outs, I don't think I am. All I see is Punk in a downward spiral of bad booking and poor planning. I'm hoping for the best and am open to it, but I'm very pessimistic after seeing them leave money on the table with Cena/Punk like they did.
Anyway, this is about Henry, not Punk. And I'm indeed more interested in Henry than Punk right now. |

Mark Henry hasn't gotten the title yet, and I doubt he'll get it soon. He should just spend his twilight years with WWE as someone else's hired gun.
|
No. Absolutely no.
|
I agree with Xero as I think it would be a nice way to put someone over down the line and give Henry a little 'pat on the back' for being with the WWE so long. It's win win. As for if he can win at Night of Champions, well I think it's certanly possible I mean WWE seems to be doing things that are spontanious and stuff as of late and it would throw alot of people off. My money's on Orton but if Henry wins I won't be that surprised.

Like VKM used to say he's got no chance and I already know that it will end with Henry going for the World's Strongest Slam only to have it reversed wiith an RKO since ever previous attempt has been blocked.
|
Henry could win. He'd essentially be a monster heel with matches already set-up with Kane, Orton, Sheamus and even Big Show. They've done a great job setting it up almost as an inevitability. Of course, logical storytelling would dictate that Orton finds a way to beat Henry, proving himself to be the night in shining armour that can stop the rampaging beast. But it just depends on how dark the WWE feels like taking SmackDown!.
Hell in a Cell is coming up, and I can't really see Orton vs. Christian happening anymore. Sheamus vs. Christian? Not powerful enough for the Cell, yet. Orton vs. Henry could head into it, but Henry's drawing power would be depleted if Orton beat him cleanly at Night of Champions, and then he wanted a rematch. Orton would need to lose and then try to regain the title from Henry in the "dangerous" Cell environment. They could also go with Orton vs. Henry vs. Christian vs. Sheamus, and combine a lot of the hatred these guys all have for each other. So, to answer your question? I'd be placing money on Orton retaining, too; but Henry could absolutely win. It all depends on what they want to do for Hell in a Cell. Duh. |

I would semi like him to win, mostly because he's just soo "monsterous" if that makes sense. It would kinda fit on the role he's on "He destroyed Big Show, he destroyed Kane, he ended the career of Vladimir Koslov and now he's World Champ" It could be the gateway to making a new major main eventer

Either way, somebody gon' getdayass kick. Somebody gon' getday wigsplit.

I could see him with the title, but I can't see him winning it now
|
i wasnt on the forums when sheamus got his first run as champ, but im sure the doubt was there as well. i will go out on a limb and say yes, i see him grabbing the belt at NOC..maybe holding on to it until the rumble? call me crazy.

I could see some non-finish at NOC to extend the program and keep the belt on Orton.
Maybe Orton tries to take it to the outside and brawl, but Henry ends up giving him the World's Strongest Slam through the table, and as Henry is rolling Orton in to pin him, he gets counted out. Henry then freaks out in the post-match and beats the hell out of him. The beatdown has to be vicious enough to sell the audience on a HIAC rematch in 2 weeks time. But yeah, that's how I see it playing out. |
Nah, I'm still skipping his actual matches on the DVR and no ball has been remotely dropped with Punk for me, hanging on every twist.
|
Mark Henry shall definitely win

I hope Mark Henry wins. I think it'd be good for both him and Orton.
