Miguel Cabrera is a huge John Cena Mark OMG

Miguel Cabrera just did the you can't see me hand thing when he hit a homer. John Cena rules. I told y'all rasslin be serious business. Wooooooooooo!!

Ruien 10-15-2011 08:35 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Rasslin is so serious it is taking over the Baseball postseason!

Droford 10-15-2011 08:38 PM

too bad sports leagues banned the Benoit throat slash

Next Big Thing 10-15-2011 08:51 PM

Lil Wayne mentioned Cena in one of his mixtape freestyles too. Maybe Cena does have some cross over appeal into popular culture that warrants his winning a title every other month.

Jesus Christ, people have been doing that FOREVER in sports. Much like when that Hockey player in Pittsburgh "mimicked" CM Punk's go to sleep. No one cares about wrestling except kids and the IWC. To say actual athletes mimic these guys is very laughable.

Ruien 10-15-2011 09:16 PM

You don't understand how serious rasslin is TheChairman! Get with the picture or get out!

Yeah, well, the Rangers are now leading 9-2, so...that's that.

Blakeamus 10-15-2011 09:41 PM

It seems to me that athletes who mimic a wrestler's signature pose or taunt is said to be fans of pro wrestling and therefore care about pro wrestling.

Blakeamus 10-15-2011 09:42 PM

My point exactly.

Aguakate 10-15-2011 09:45 PM

I know Prince Fielder has the WWE Spinner Title and was holding it up when they won the Division and the ALDS.

FearedSanctity 10-15-2011 09:53 PM

And don't forget...

I'd love to see someone bust out a taunt during a Test cricket match...

Aguakate 10-15-2011 11:12 PM

Arron Asham is CM Punk!

That Cena 'you can't see me' hand gesture has been a gesture to signify stupidity in Germany for many years. Maybe in other countries too, I dunno.

Triple Naitch 10-16-2011 09:28 AM

Alfonso Soriano has been doing it for a while, and there was a segment on ESPN or MLB where they talked about it.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2011 12:19 PM

A few years ago, many Cincinnati Reds players would wear nWo Wolfpac shirts under their jerseys, and even give each other the hand gesture. I think it was Sean Casey who even walked up to the plate to the Wolfpac theme song.

More recently:

What's "laughable" to me is people who actually watch wrestling and think that it's ridiculous that any professional athlete might do the same thing.

Anybody Thrilla 10-16-2011 12:20 PM

That Arron Asham bit had nothing to do with CM Punk though, I'm willing to bet.

Triple Naitch 10-16-2011 01:37 PM

Saw A.J. Pierzynski doing warm ups wearing the CM Punk Best in the World shirt.

Fixed...

I remember Brett Favre did the crotch chop before, and a ton of people used it as their walkup theme, or as a closer. I remember going to Kansas City over 3 days and I heard like 11 songs related to wrestling in those days.

Anybody Thrilla 10-19-2011 03:00 AM

Blakeamus, that doesn't even make sense.

Blakeamus 10-20-2011 03:02 PM

It doesn't...:nono:

Aguakate 10-20-2011 03:07 PM

Jason Giambi used the "NWO Wolfpac" theme when he played in Oakland, and Matt Stairs used "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's theme.

Aguakate 10-22-2011 12:05 PM

BREAK IT DOWN!
