Who should induct Ron Simmons into the WWE Hall of Fame?
Simple question with a difficult answer, considering all the possible choices.
1. Bobby Bowden: A father figure for him in FSU, a school where Simmons became a College Football legend. 2. Butch Reed: Former Tag Team Partner in WCW World Tag Team Champions Doom. Perhaps a dark horse, surprisingly enough. 3. Theodore Long: Former Manager of Doom. Was also present at the ceremony for Simmons celebration as the first Black World Heavyweight Champion. He's the person I'd go with. 4. Bill Watts: Promoter for WCW at the time who made that decision to put the belt on him. Another good choice. 5. Ahmed Johnson: A joke post, to be sure, as no one would understand him. His feud with Farooq put both men on the map. 6. John Layfield: His tag team partner in APA. He's the other person I would consider going with. 7. Other: Say who you would consider. |
I doubt that Bobby Bowden would be available. If he is then I think he should be the one who does it. I'm voting for JBL cause he is a wrestling gawd and Ron was the best man at his wedding to the chick from Faux Noise.

This is a no-brainer

It's going to be JBL.
Bradshaw.
i thnk jbl SHOULD, but teddy long probably will
JBL. Why is this even a poll? Really now.

On a related note, I'm slightly annoyed they're skipping over the Nation in the video packages. I loved Farooq during that time.
Yeah that's lame.
Defo JBL, but it would be funny if they chose Ahmed Johnson.
Back on topic, Michael Hayes.
Your kdding, right?
I thought I read somewhere that JBL was already down as doing it? Might've just been somebodys speculative post though.
JBL no question.
Would rather see Bill Watts in the hopes of him saying some controversial.
Jbl would be #1 pick but Watts would be cool too.
JBL come on. Most of todays fans only know Ron Simmons as the guy who says 'damn'. Going as far back as his WCW days is stretching it.
But Watts on WWE would be a step clOsee to a UWF/Mid South DVD

I'll say either Teddy Long or Bill Watts
Watts has appeared on WWE programming so he'd probably be up for doing it |
Bill Nye the science guy.

I really appreciate the way the Hall of Fame events and videos kind of "educate" younger fans. |
Yeah but JBL is a bigger draw than Ron Simmons, and this is a business in which they'll want to draw.
JBL is the only answer here. |
Butch Reed or JBL.
JBL since he's the guy he spent most of his WWE carreer with obviously.
Vader

Gotta be JBL. Having Butch Reed induct him would be like Marty Jannetty inducting HBK instead of HHH.
Sunny. She was his manager in his WWE debut.
As a bonus, he comes out in the "African-American Gladiator" attire, takes off the headgear, looks at it, gives the obligatory "DAMN!", then takes his HoF ring and leaves. |
JBL is a no brainer. He's still friendly with WWE, formed a memorable tag team with Simmons, and is his best friend. This is like if Triple H didn't induct HBK, to a lesser degree.
JBL. Who then hopefully gets to at least appear in some sort of segment at Wrestlemania since he will already be there.
JBL. He was paired with Simmons for a lot longer than Reed and the majority of his tag team moments came with JBL. He is also the closest as a friend to Simmons than everyone else on the list.
Watts would be a lot more useful for a documentary dvd on Simmons if one was ever made and his reign was more symbolic than him being pushed as a long term top star in WCW. Same for Bowden being more useful in a documentary than presenting a speech inducting Simmons. |
Tom Zenk, since they both once traveled in a car together from Atlanta to Savannah together.
JBL, with Vader in a close second, and any random black guy on the roster in third place.
