the main. Sheamus/DBD was outstanding, Punk/Jericho was good but you knew where both were going. The main had so much more, the spectacle, the unpredictability, the unfamiliarity, the blood, the heat etc. Pro-wrestling approaching it's best.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-30-2012 12:21 AM

Tough call. Cena/Brock and Punk/Jericho had the spectacle. Sheamus/Bryan had the excellent wrestling.

But on a third hand, Big Show's face.

Tough call.

CSL 04-30-2012 12:22 AM

totally forgot about Show's face :(

owenbrown 04-30-2012 12:22 AM

THE RYBACK MATCH WAS THE BEST 5-STAR MATCH IN THE HISTORY OF 5-STAR MATCHES!!!!!!!

:shifty:

Seriously..... Punk/Jericho

even the couple of botches couldnt stop Punk/Jericho. That flying elbow on the table reminded me of HBK, we all miss him.. god rest his soul :shifty:

CSL 04-30-2012 12:24 AM

best non-Vince McMahon WWE facial ever

no idea how anybody thinks Punk/Jericho was better than Sheamus/Bryan but do your thang

Lock Jaw 04-30-2012 01:30 AM

Lesnar/Cena was a "spectacle". More "drama" than "wrestling".

Punk/Jericho I actually didn't really care for that much. Not saying it was bad. It was a good match, but not even as good as their Mania match. These two guys work better wrestling each other, and not hitting each other with weapons.

Sheamus/Bryan on the other hand was pretty fantastic all the way through. Both men brought it tonight. Clearcut winner here. I gotta say, doing the 18 second thing at Mania was worth it, because now this match actually had heat. They could have had a great match at Mania, yeah, but with zero heat behind it.

CSL 04-30-2012 01:32 AM

is "a spectacle" and "drama" not part of "wrestling"?

Loved Punk/Jericho. Lesnar/Cena may have had that unpredictable factor, but there were moments in Punk/Cena where I though Jericho might actually win, even though it was almost a foregone conclusion that Punk was going to win. That to me is highly commendable. To get fan, and a smart fan no less, to believe.

That and I felt the match was just really well put together. Every move and event seemed to flow together perfectly to me. Like there were no wasted movements. I thought it had a fantastic finish as well. I had totally forgotten about the exposed turnbuckle.

Poit 04-30-2012 02:34 AM

Sheamus/Bryan barely beats out Big Show's face.

teamXtremist 04-30-2012 03:25 AM

even though seeing cena destroyed was nice sheamus bryan was a fckn great match

#1-norm-fan 04-30-2012 05:08 AM

This is the toughest decision I've ever had to make in my life.

#1-norm-fan 04-30-2012 05:09 AM

I just wanna say, even though it was outshined by three other matches, Orton and Kane deserves some credit for being pretty good itself.

KaosDarksol 04-30-2012 05:37 AM

All together a great ppv but had to go with Daniel Bryan vs sheamus

Juan 04-30-2012 05:40 AM

Brock/Cena - 9 votes
Punk/Jericho - 8 votes
Bryan/Sheamus - 6 votes

Juan 04-30-2012 05:45 AM

Props to Tom Guycott, xTONYxREVOLUTIONx and MoFo for voting for the worst matches on the card. Always a riot

James Steele 04-30-2012 05:48 AM

Brock/Cena. They managed to have me cheering for John Cena. I loathe John Cena like I love Triple H. (Note: That is quite a bit)

It was an intense, physical, violent, emotional, and riveting match that somehow managed to shine on its own and make you forget that you just watched several amazing matches just 30 minutes prior. From a "technical" standpoint, it wasn't anything special but it didn't need to be. Brock and Cena told a story, and it was a story I got lost in. The reaction Cena got from a hostile Chicago crowd during his comeback was mind-blowingly awe-inspiring. I seriously can't wait to see Brock Lesnar vs Triple H. Brock proved he still has it. Cena proved he can still be the ultimate babyface and make it work. Triple H proved he is doing an amazing job as COO. RAW will be "must watch" tonight.

DaVe 04-30-2012 07:29 AM

How do you not have a job in the WWE, James?

VSG 04-30-2012 07:54 AM

Sheamus/Daniel Bryan

Set the tone for the next matches to come and carried each other through an absolute classic. If this is what we get as sequels to 18 second squashes, sign me up for another one.

Nicky Fives 04-30-2012 10:23 AM

Shay-moose/Bryan, Punk/Jericho or Cena/Lesnar are all acceptable answers..... I went with Sheamus/Bryan.....

It would violate the restraining order.

Keith 04-30-2012 05:16 PM

John Cena vs Brock Lesnar hands down, in my opinion. I wonder if in some instances they really did legit hit each other in order to help Brock, as a message to those saying Brock is weak for leaving UFC and going back to WWE.

If that's the case, John Cena deserves even more respect.

Emperor Smeat 04-30-2012 05:25 PM

Really tough choice since both Sheamus vs Bryan and Punk vs Jericho were both amazing but gave the slight nod to Punk vs Jericho.

Rammsteinmad 04-30-2012 07:40 PM

Punk and Jericho. Match just blew me away. Was kind of gutted they didn't come out in their wrestling attires, as that always looks better in my opinion than jeans or whatever, and also wish there was some 'wrestling' in it, but overall the match was just awesome and the stuff these two did together was incredible. I hope this feud continues.

Sheamus and Bryan was an awesome match, and hopefully really opened WWE's eyes that these two guys 'belong'.

Cena and Lesnar was excellent as well. It wasn't any kind of wrestling classic, but the drama and the unpredictibility of Cena getting dominated the entire match, only to get a 'cheap' win was perfect.

Cool King 05-01-2012 08:17 PM

And my vote puts CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho in the lead.

Triple Naitch 05-01-2012 08:22 PM

Kinda wanna change my vote to Big Show/Cody due to the face and Cody's Beautiful Disaster off the table.

Immortal Moose 05-01-2012 08:27 PM

CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho gets my vote.

MoFo 05-01-2012 09:22 PM

Ryback b/c I wanst expecting him in a match

But LESNAR VS CENA was pretty f'kin good too, if only for that spot where Brock went flying over the rope after clattering Cena.

irishmaster 05-02-2012 05:17 PM

21 - 21 with my vote. The Ryback match was great for the immortal commentary of Lawler - that tag team reminds me of my favourite tv show one and a half men!!

But Sheamus/Bryan match just shades it. Money well spent.

#1-norm-fan 05-03-2012 02:24 AM

lol. Now Sheamus and Bryan is at the top.

Watched the show again. Seriously really tough to choose between those three matches. I don't remember the last time there were three matches this good on a PPV.

Extreme Rules or WrestleMania?

el bobbo 05-03-2012 03:35 AM

Daniel Bryan v Sheamus was the "wrestling" match of the night.

el bobbo 05-03-2012 03:36 AM

CM Punk v Jericho was the "Holy Shit" match of the night

el bobbo 05-03-2012 03:37 AM

Bork Laser v Cena was the "I have to tune into Raw tomorrow night to see how they are going to handle this" match of the night.

3 great matches.

That's debatable. Cena/Lesnar had me going "Holy Shit" from the get-go.
