What would you consider to be the top 10 Must Play NES Titles

Alright, got a favor to ask of you gents. Due to limited access to the internet up until I was around 16 years old and due to low access to video game stores I had very little in the way of games and didn't know which games were big news I just grabbed it off a corner store shelf and played it for the three days you could rent them and either get them again or never rent them again if they sucked.

However, the selection was rather small and I doubt we got any of the big name titles.

So help me out here, which games were the must haves and which would you say are the top ten must play.

I intend to get an emulator and trying these out.

Fignuts 10-19-2012 02:17 AM

A lot more than 10, but it's the best, most comprehensive list of must play games for the nes that I've ever seen.

Though I'd take out the Mario Bros. games, since you can play the graphically superior all star versions on SNES.

SNLfunnyguy 10-20-2012 11:17 AM

In no particular order: Marble Madness, the first three mario bros game, Duck Hunt, TMNT, mega Man 2, Castlevania

Gertner 10-20-2012 11:33 AM

Gertner 10-20-2012 02:05 PM

River City Ransom

Nicky Fives 10-20-2012 06:41 PM

Super Mario, Super Mario 3 & Duck Hunt should easily fall into most Top 10's

Since he's just looking for the experience, does it matter?

Especially if he's emulating them?

RBI Baseball 2 was MUCH better than RBI Baseball 1.

Shisen Kopf 10-21-2012 02:26 PM

Battletoads & Double Dragon isn't necessarily an underrated game. It's just a rare game that not many people knew existed on the NES. I for one only thought it was on SNES.

El Fangel 10-24-2012 08:51 PM

Thank you guys, many I have played but there are several I am really interested in.

River City Ransom was the bees knees.
