Wrestlers in street clothes
Maybe I have not been watching enough of the product lately... but aside from when Goldust (in makeup for some reason) and Cody jumped the rail in street clothes, When was the last time that happened?
It seems when an "unannounced" performer shows up these days, or when they are not supposed to wrestle on the show... they go out in their gear anyways. Maybe I'm just recalling a few moments from way back when... but it seemed that wrestlers who would jump or rescue guys always looked like they weren't ready to wrestle. I think it adds a bit of realism to the show if the dude comes out in his street gear. Post some examples if you got 'em, or let me know that if it happens all the time and I'm just crazy. |
wasn't nash in normal clothes when he attacked punk a couple years ago at summerslam?

great example!

Big Show was in street clothes at the 8/12 Raw. He even wrestled a dark match in those clothes afterward.
|
So its happening more than I thought. This is good.

Punk seems to wear "regular" clothes to the ring quite a lot. Undashing Cody Rhodes even wrestled in a suit for a while. Del Rio used to always have the fancy suit, not sure if he still does because I skip all his promos segments. Same thing with Miz.
Not sure if you'd class suits as "gear", but if fits that those guys would just wear a suit on the reg. |
Good topic although I cannot give it the Shisen Seal of Approval as you used so a word I have never heard of instead of rasslers. 5/10

The Undertaker wrestled in a trench coat once.

He wears shorts. Shorts are half pants. But he clearly only does it so we could meet in the middle in this very thread.

And he has his ring boots and stuff.... I guess maybe I'm reaching far and being too specific but I mean like say Punk ran out for a save from the back.... he's ALWAYS wearing his boots and knee pads and taped wrists and shit...
what if he ran out in his jeans and a t shirt because he was so "angered" by the situation he went out in a "Spur of the moment". Like you'd never see Austin come out from the back in his gear unless he was about to wrestle... he always wore whatever, I guess that was part of his character |
Nah, he's usually just in regular clothes unless he's specifically wrestling a match.

John Cena's ring gear is his street clothes.

Jericho and Punk. Extreme Rules last year.

HHH regularly came out in a leather jacket to hit somebody with a sledgehammer.Austin would come out in jeans and a 3:16 t-shirt to stun Vince (or Rock, Shamrock, whoever pissed him off that night) and spill beer around the ring.

I always thought Bret was one of the few guys who call pull off wrestling in shorts and a t shirt (and still look like a wrestler). Didn't he wrestle in shorts, high socks and Nikes a couple of times in the WWE? (with a Hitman shirt instead of the NWO shirt, of course) |
