What is the first song you remember liking?

Yellow Submarine

Triple A 12-03-2013 11:55 PM

I don't remember anything before 1994 for some reason, so maybe Green Day - When I Come Around

Triple A 12-03-2013 11:57 PM

Oh maybe Lindsey Buckingham - Holiday Road, cause of National Lampoon's Vacation

Arashi Kage 12-04-2013 12:15 AM

Probably the Thunder Cats theme song.

I also remember having a Ninja Turtles album, and I loved the song "Pizza Power". I can only remember a short bit of lyrics, "Pizza Power, a flying saucer food delight..."

In terms of "real" music, MC Hammer was my first favorite music artist as a child. So probably "Can't touch this". :p

I wanna say Collective Soul - December. Whenever I try and think back to "music my parents listened to in the car when I was young" that's always the first song that pops in my head.

The first song I actively remember hearing and actually thinking, "Man, I want to hear more songs that sound like this" was blink-182 - Dysentary Gary at my friend's house while we were playing Diablo 2 and Goldeneye on Nintendo 64 A+A+A+A+

I was three years old.

El Vaquero de Infierno 12-04-2013 03:40 PM

For some reason, when I think back to my early childhood (pre-10 years old), the songs that jump out to me are:

Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al
Deacon Blue - Real Gone Kid
Billy Joel - We Didn't Start the Fire

I always loved it when those three songs were played on the radio.

Rammsteinmad 12-05-2013 08:56 PM

The first song that comes to mind is "I Can't Dance" by Genesis, but could easily have been something from Mike Oldfield, Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac... whatever my parents listened to really.

Black Widow 12-05-2013 11:20 PM

Something from Aladdin or Lion King.

DaveWadding 12-06-2013 12:15 AM

Ritchie Valens/Los Lobos - La Bamba

That was around the time the movie was coming out. 87 or 88, so I was really young.

Kris P Lettus 12-06-2013 10:55 AM

FourFifty 12-06-2013 09:20 PM

Chantilly Lace by the Big Bopper.
When I was a kid my mom had this mix tape she recorded from KEarth 101, an oldies station out somewhere between Palm Springs and Los Angeles. At this stage of my life all I listened to was what my parents had. Oldies, musicals, and classical. It was all a bunch of mixed tapes they recorded. My mom played the hell out of her KEarth mix tape. I couldn't stand most of it, but I did enjoy that song.

parkmania 12-06-2013 11:05 PM

Bohemian Rhapsody. LONG before Wayne's World, though.
