Worst **Gimmick** to ever win a world title?
What is it!>!>!>!?
|
Great Khali--just terrible. OF course there's Arquette and Russo but if you don't like that, you're just Meltzer sheep,,,,
|
This might be unpopular but I always thought Yokozuna was pretty awful. Not just because of the faux-Japanese gimmick but Yoko was dangerous in the ring and he was a health hazard to himself.
|
He was later in his career, but that was post World Title runs. When he started tagging with Owen, that's when people refused to work with him.

Don't get me wrong, he was pretty mobile for his size but he was over 500 pounds and wasn't all that tall, so that isn't saying a ton. He served his role when they needed a main event guy, but he wasn't one of my favorites.

Well there hasnt been many "gimmicks" to win the top prize so im saying Zombie Taker.
That was utter shit. Dude made it work but UNDEAD WILD WEST MORTICIAN THAT DOESNT TALK was champ at one point. THen he went Phenom, got better, then became an alltime great. But his first title win has to be the worst gimmick to hold the title. |
I was thinking it must be him or Kane.

Great Khali

Sycho Sid
|
Rey Mysterio. His gimmick was he was friends with Guerrero. so they felt bad.
|
ECW had a lot of terrible rasllers, most their top names were just "run of the mill guy who likes a drink or seven"
|
WM IX era Hogan.

Mark henry

Depends on how you define a "bad gimmick". I'd say The Undertaker was a pretty bad gimmick when he took the title off of Hogan. He was a zombie who also happened to work as an undertaker and build caskets in his spare time. Also, he got magical powers from an urn but only when it was in the hands of a chubby mortician named Paul Bearer.
I know he went on to transcend the gimmick and make it iconic and such but... Goddamn. |

The Miz.
The guy is the zit on the taint of the wrestling business. |
yeah. the Miz sucks
|
Well looks like my vote for KOTF is now up for grabs...
|
I almost want to say Vince McMahon.
There's no reason why the boss, a man who isn't trained as a wrestler, should have gotten in the ring. |

I think I am going to have to go with The Iron Sheik or Sgt. Slaughter just something about those to I could not stand...
|
The Iron Sheik gimmick was great for its time.
this was just after the Iran hostage situation so he got plenty of heat. |
The Great Khali was pretty terrible. The title really should have gone to Kane at the time. But Khali was still a heel at this point in time. He even had the Punjabi Prison match.
The Undertaker is a fair vote too. And, I'll just throw him out there -- Sheamus was an odd choice for champ too. He wasn't really much of a "gimmick," but he hadn't really found his footing as a character even at that point in time. He was an Irish dude who looked really pale and had red hair. It's almost the caricature of it all that gets me. |
Mankind is a top 3 all time favorite wrestler of mine, but his character was essentially borderline retarded. Sheamus is a good vote, though.
