who carried who?
Name a tag team where you feel one guy carried the other. Example bret carried jim or shawn carried marty. Discuss
|
Owen carried Yoko. Not literally.
|
Would anyone say rick martel carried tito or were they about even?
|
Would HBK and Jannetty count?
|
Given there are "I'm shawn, you're marty" t shirts available I would say so

Also, proper grammar please. It should be "Who carried whom". Please note for future reference.
|
Titus is certainly carrying Young right now, Young had another chance to say something last night and did nothing once again.
Colossal Connection was very much Haku doing all the work for Andre to keep him involved at that stage of his career. Don't agree with Shawn and Marty at all. In hindsight, that's the way it looks, but Marty was great in the ring and just as big a part of The Rockers. In fact, he was probably better than Shawn early on. |
This starts and ends with the Dream Team.
Beefcake was so awful. Poor Valentine worked 80% of the matches. |

As weird as it might seem to say, I think that Road Dogg carried Billy Gunn once the Outlaws joined DX.

Cactus Jack carried Terry Funk in '98. Terry could barely go anymore and was only into doing spots at this point. Foley was still able to put on good/great matches and took better bumps most of the time.
|
Billy Gunn carried the entire WWF during the Attitude era.

Harper carries Rowan.
In the beginning, I felt Murdoch carried Cade. Also, Bret carried the matches, but Jim carried the promos. |
I thought Young kept his mouth shut because Titus seemed like he was about to say something racially insensitive during that match. I think there was Hogan effect there.
I don't think Bret carried Anvil. Jim was a great personality and was the power wrestle of the team. |

Rodd Dogg and Billy Gunn were perfect, they masked each others weaknesses and didn't carry one or the other. Andre and Haku - Haku didnt carry the team. He did the work but as mentioned Andre wasnt there to work, he was a presence. Honestly my thought is the impact players. Storm carried that team based solely on the fact that Justin Credible was utter shit. Harlem Heat - Stevie Ray was never more than a big body. Booker T made them an all time great team. |

i found this to be true during their run, but an interesting twist is post split beefcake got a big push and valentine was stuck with dino bravo for a minute. then bravo got a push and valentine was given HTM. makes me wonder was valentine used a mentor to get guys ready for a singles run or did they think he was only capable in a tag team role and was he not carrying his weight ? |

as a way to judge it in a case like the NAO, is if you ask would the team still work if one guy got replaced? i think that NAO could have worked with billy being taken out for another guy. But if you had billy and a guy other than road dogg alot of their hype and energy would be missing.

If it works, it works. |

So neither NAO member carried the other really...they were just ridiculously formulaic.</font> |
Quote:
Love some of the old stuff from the 80s where even if they are following a formula they managed to mask it to a degree. Tag matches now just feel so phoned in because the face hot tag is such a given that almost everything leading up to it feels irrelevant.</font> |

him teaming with honky was so fucking terrible, what an insult to poor greg |
But Rhythm & Blues had Monsoon nicknaming Valentine "Boxcar". That has to count for something
|
Booker T carried Stevie Ray in Harlem Heat
|
Although they were both pretty 'clunky' IMO

There was only one wrestler called "WHO", so no, he couldn't have carried himself.
Rumor has it that WHO's on first, though.. |
Speaking of haku did he carry the weight in all 3 of his tag teams? If we say he did the heavy lifting with andre, did he also with the barbarian? Tama?
|
I'd say he and Tama were equals. Great team.
I'm a huge Meng fan, but both were pretty bad in WCW. Neither cut promos so you can't really judge them on that. I will say Meng was more intriguing, but I woulsn't call Barbarian dead weight. |
I loved the islanders too. Great theme. Dungeon of doom were formidable looking and worked great in wcw. Meng was always awesome except for king haku. Lame ass gimmick
|
Bubba carried D-Von.
Edge carried Christian Jeff carried Matt Billy carried Bart, Chuck, and Road Dogg Dynamite carried Bulldog |

I am aware

I was coming here to comment on Powers of Pain, but everyone already got their Haku comments out of their system.
Also, as for the Impact Players... their relationship was more student/teacher, so of course Lance would "carry" that team. Let's ask the hardball questions, like who carried the Hollywood Blondes? I'd say Pillman, but Austin was catching on fast. |
