Someone tell me more about him.

I know he's done commentary for boxing, wrestling and MMA. Has a legit reputation.

Seems like an actual fan who knows his history and actually calls moves by their names.

I give him three weeks before his future endeavor.

I am a fan of the guy already. At the very minimum, he would be a good play by play commentator for PPVs and wrestling DVDs. Also, Lawley turning heel makes it kinda like old school JR + Lawler tag team.

Not sure if I like him just yet.... Seemed to know his stuff, which is good.... But I dunno.... Voice sounded "disingenuous" to me....

Mauro Ranallo is really good choice imo.

He started in the biz as a teenager doing commentary for Al Tomko's All Star Wrestling out of Vancouver in the 80s. So he's been around forever.

He did commentary as of late for NJPW on AXIS.

Read that as "All Tomko's All Star Wrestling"....

i was a big fan of his debut. deinitely looking forward to hearing more.

I think good announcing makes the product better even if the in ring action isn't as good. Hearing about Lawler working as a heel and the new announcer, it sounds hopeful. Maybe I'll check it out sometime soon. Haven't watched since 2 weeks after the rumble last year.

Is he as great as J Styles? I don't think so!

I really hope TWA can get Tyrone P Bridges to come in and do commentary for their shows.

You mean #HABM. This guy is the real deal. Already seeing signs of Lawler getting upset he is taking this serious. "That doesn't count/don't care about that." Fuck the lazy fucks doing this job like they don't give a fuck. Fire Booker and The King. Smack down can do fine with MR, Saxton and Corey Graves.

He worked for Pride FC, Strikeforce, and calls boxing for Showtime. He is super legit and it one of the best commentators in all combat sports. Huge addition by WWE and I hope he replaces Cole all together.

Well, I think if nothing else it makes an admittedly bad show appear better, but when SD! sucks, it will still be glaringly obvious. Kudos to them for actually trying to improve the product, though.

I do think it's still kind of ridiculous that in 2016 we've still got Lawler doing commentary. There was a time when he was amazing, but now it's all stale jokes and perving on the divas. Surely WWE could find themselves a much better replacement commentary to brighten up at least the PERCEPTION of a higher quality show in SmackDown!

He's no Mike Adamle.

Lawler is one of the most talented men in the history of the business. He can do commentary, but for some reason he stopped giving a fuck. He also turned face, which makes his input redundant from the get-go. King as a heel color commentator could be wonderful. They should have turned him when Michael Cole first replaced JR in a bitter sort of "I have to work with you, dork?" sort of way. Now is the time to let him be a dick sitting next to Mauro.
