So, watching the main event of RAW, I finally get it.

Just as Billy was the hot tag for Road Dogg, that's all that Reigns has been since the halcyon days of Shield 6-man tag matches... high energy guy who gets the hot tag and hits 4 moves, fucks people up and gets the pin.

So, how many Mr. Ass/The One pushes do we get from Roman before they realize this and abort the singles pushes?

after Wrestlemania is over I see the Roman push dying down or at least changing directions drastically. They have way too much time and product invested into him and the story to stop the train right now.

I don't remember Billy Gunn ever getting a serious push mate. Correct me if I'm wrong but did he ever even get a singles push?

Summerslam 1999 "Kiss My Ass" Match versus The Rock was as high as he got...I wouldn't call it serious though, although like many he deserved his shot, always had great matches, had a good gimmick and could cut a passable promo....Hard to compete with the likes of Austin, Rock, Angle, HHH, Taker though.....

He needs to turn heel. That would keep his character a "fresh" kick that it seems to need at this point.

Still say that him walking out on his own just to come back over 30 minutes later is utter shite and ruined pretty much EVERYTHING about his character he has talked about so far.

why don't they just turn the damn guy heel... I can't imagine he sells even 10% of the merch that Cena does that would have a detrimental financial impact if people didn't like him

Roman definitely needs to turn heel. They have had so many opportunities to do it and didnt, maybe this time he snaps on Ambrose and takes his own path. Really doesnt need to go full heel and join the Athority but just being a loner that doesnt like anyone and doesnt care what the fans think. Would go along with his entrence to as. o one wants him in tbe locker room, but if he was heel I dont think he would enter through the crowd. Needs less mic time as well.

reigns just keeps missing opportunities. a hired gun heel is his best route. last night was a perfect opportunity for him to cut a good promo backstage with whoever is doing the segments these days, instead of the babygirl bullshit trying to play cool,he should have been pissed off. where cena takes the times he should be pissed off and smiles or laughs, reigns takes those times and tries to be too cool for school. its annoying when they do it.

No recollection of that. If I ever try out the WWE Network I will give it a watch.

Roman and memorable matches is an oxymoron.

Roman should be a bodyguard/enforcer type character. IE he walks around as muscle for people better than him in every way. Kinda like the Shield.

I keep getting the feeling he's better as a heel...like he's got this massive cowardly streak in his look or something. Especially when he has the whole "no one likes him," thing going on.

For some I keep thinking about Batista's run as the heel prick/primadonna before he left WWE...it was his best work.

Yeah he was perfect in the shield but not as a singles wrestler.

Roman Reigns reminds me a lot about Xacutor. Just like Xacutor rode the "coattails" of Team FTW for his success, Roman got over based off The Shield. CHW keeps trying to get Xacutor over just like WWE keeps doing with Roman Reigns.
Honestly, I like both Roman Reigns and Xacutor but I think they'd both do better as part of a tag team.

Roman as a heel would work so well. Have him turn on Ambrose or whatever. Join the authority. And they can be meta as fuck and have him brag about how he has been pushed so much so fast and forced down our throats despite people clearly not liking it. Address all the boos and shit. Come out and say he's the "new Cena", and he's gonna be here a long ass time so they better just deal with it.

Roman has been consistently getting the biggest pop on house shows. I get some people don't like the guy, but he's really over with the majority of the audience. Billy Gunn on his own was never that over.

The portion of the audience that chants for marks dressed like geeks doesn't like him but are loud.

Mostly what I remember about the Rock / Billy Kiss my Ass Match, was Billy brought out an ugly fat girl for Rock to kiss because "his ass was too pretty to have Rock's lips on it." Of course, after Billy lost Rocky forced him to kiss the fat chick's ass, and King made a bunch of cracks about her almost having an orgasm.

Roman Reigns will win the WWE Title at WrestleMania. He'll probably have a few PPV matches against Triple H to try and smash him over. When that doesn't work, I can see the company turning him heel around SummerSlam time.

Not going to get into a pissing contest about it. But he has been getting the biggest pop in most markets.
