I can't really think of anything off the top of my head.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-28-2016 02:03 AM

But is it Yuge? #FeelTheBern

Swiss Ultimate 03-28-2016 02:06 AM

You're so confused.

Jordan 03-28-2016 09:47 AM

I guess we could think of people with a lot of enemies... but I can't come up with it.

His piss test would probably melt the cup tbf…

Innovator 03-28-2016 10:16 AM

Pissing 100% Viking would do that

Jordan 03-28-2016 10:41 AM

Yeah I don't think the story is about a juicer. I think it's something racial or sexual. Something to tarnish someone's image, steroids in wrestling is news for a like a day but really who cares it's wrestling.

The CyNick 03-28-2016 11:14 AM

Or you know, maybe he just cares about what he looks like and is willing to put in the time.

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams.

HHH's piss, on the other hand...

Emperor Smeat 03-28-2016 12:07 PM

Seems like this story might be related to the ESPN-WWE partnership and some bad stuff that happened at FOX Sports in regards to one of their UFC reporters based on recent Observer tweets.

Might even involve the Observer as well since their NXT reporter has hinted the news is really bad while Meltzer is hinting at WWE and/or ESPN making sure nothing bad gets leaked during Mania week.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 12:20 PM

what kind of bad? Sex scandal? Sexual assault scandal?

Emperor Smeat 03-28-2016 12:39 PM

Probably something related to concussions if I had to guess since ESPN did cover the Daniel Bryan retirement story and WWE themselves dealing with big lawsuits about it.

Some stuff Dave Meltzer was tweeting about makes it seem like whatever the story is, ESPN and/or WWE is doing everything possible to ensure it doesn't become public at least for Mania week.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I don't mind if there's interest, but if you're covering it, you no longer can run from the real news. <a href="https://t.co/R06L4SvzzJ">https://t.co/R06L4SvzzJ</a></p>&mdash; Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) <a href="https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/714321805482205184">March 28, 2016</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Earlier he tweeted about FOX Sports firing their UFC reporter since he was reporting on stuff that made UFC look bad and a potential conflict of interest since FOX has a tv deal with UFC.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">So interesting column critical of Fox dropping Ariel because of idea he was reporting stuff they don't want, <a href="https://t.co/K7G0QL4BpZ">https://t.co/K7G0QL4BpZ</a></p>&mdash; Dave Meltzer (@davemeltzerWON) <a href="https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/714319830157889536">March 28, 2016</a></blockquote>

"Seems the Tweet I made from my personal account has caused quite the stir. I will address it here, and then never address it again.

I am not a journalist and have never claimed to be. I do a podcast, write reviews, and a few times per year when the situation is right, our site or our podcast will break the occasional news story (the infamous Dixie email, Steen signing with WWE, Ibushi to EVOLVE/Kaiju, Candice/GFW no show drama, PWS stuff, the end of DGUSA, etc). We are not and have never claimed to be a news site. Tons of hard news & rumors finds our DM box that we choose to sit on, and there are people reading this right now who know full well that we (myself & Rich) sit on TONS of "scoops", especially when specifically asked not to speak about it. If we wanted to be a news site or hunt for cheap clicks, we could very easily do so.

The story I Tweeted about has been cooking for months, and somehow stayed quiet. It is now making the rounds, and being hinted about publicly. I am not going to break it. I have no interest in breaking it for a variety of reasons. It would drive CLICKS for sure, but it isn't my place to report it and it isn't what we do here. My belief is that it will come out soon because the person has enemies (to be fair, who doesn't?) who will find a some pleasure in outing it. That won't be me.

People are running wild with it on places like Wreddit. Your mileage on the word "major" may vary. I feel like it's a major story because it involves someone who works full time in the wrestling business and reputation(s?) will be ruined. Some may not consider it a "major" story.

There are people who will read this who are aware of the situation. This is not me asking them to back me up or to out themselves. In fact, I prefer that they don't confirm or break it here, because I want no connection to this for a number of reasons. I may have underestimated the power of Twitter or my own reputation as a news source in peoples eyes when I made the Tweet. I made it from my personal account, and figured my friends would see it and didn't think it would cause much of a stir. That was stupid, but at this point it's whatever, because the toothpaste cant be put back in the tube.

I won't ever speak about it again. If/when (more like when) it comes out, I'm not going to claim to have broken it, or confirm it as being what I was talking about or anything like that. I made the Tweet, I have to own that, but I want nothing to do with actually breaking the news or claiming I instigated it breaking. If I was interested in that, I'd simply write the story and publish it here.

So that's that. Sorry for working everybody up. And I said this on Twitter, but I'll say it here too. If you followed me based on that tweet, you are welcomed to stick around, but I am never tweeting a follow up and I almost never tweet about wrestling. That account is extremely boring unless you like college basketball and Reds baseball. Might as well unfollow. I wasn't looking for cheap Twitter follows."

Simple Fan 03-28-2016 12:57 PM

I don't see it being concussions, or it least I hope it not. Those guys know the risk involved in wrestling or MMA, you don't want concussions find a different job. Should be in all sports contracts that they won't sue down the line for injuries sustained by performing.

DAMN iNATOR 03-28-2016 12:59 PM

So how long before they break the story (and their word)?

Big Vic 03-28-2016 01:03 PM

WWE accidentally signed Buck Zumhofe?

Hanso Amore 03-28-2016 01:33 PM

Some Indy fag did something stupid and no one will care

Emperor Smeat 03-28-2016 02:51 PM

A trusted source on the Observer's forums knows what this big thing is about and also why the guy who made the vague announcement quickly wanted nothing to do with the story.

Also same reason why the Observer and nobody else has revealed it yet since nobody wants the massive lawsuit that likely will happen next if it is not confirmed to be true.

It's a talent, if the scoop is not true and it's reported it will be slanderous/libelous. But given who it is I have to imagine it's true.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 02:55 PM

but that doesn't sound like it has anything to do with a concussion?

Schlomey 03-28-2016 02:59 PM

oh man I love some juicy drama before the grandaddy of emall.

Simple Fan 03-28-2016 03:02 PM

Sounds like a rape.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 03:09 PM

Yeah ima go with Simple Fan on this one.

Cena overcame the odds when a woman said no to him.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 03:16 PM

He dug down a little too deep

Hanso Amore 03-28-2016 03:20 PM

How is this a major story when they can't even confirm if it's legit and are afraid of a lawsuit of it doesn't shake out?

Hanso Amore 03-28-2016 03:21 PM

Probably not rape...those accusations get reported and dropped all the time without lawsuit.

See Kane, Patrick......Kane, Evander.

Oh my God Corporate Kane raped some one.

Lock Jaw 03-28-2016 03:22 PM

Kane, Demon

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 03:23 PM

Hanso with his usual sterling contribution

Savio 03-28-2016 03:23 PM

Vince raped Wrestlemania

Lock Jaw 03-28-2016 03:24 PM

Maybe Eva Marie used to be Steve Marie

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 03:24 PM

This whole thing is a bit odd. Am very curious if it's anything or just rumblings and if it does come out if it'll mean anything at all, or just WWE being super fucking weird as per usual

Evil Vito 03-28-2016 03:26 PM

I wouldn't be surprised if Bryan is related to the news somehow given that he suddenly pulled out of all of his house show appearances and Axxess.

The CyNick 03-28-2016 03:26 PM

Don't worry guys sports entertainment has some of the most respected journalists in the world. They will surely get to the bottom of it.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-28-2016 03:27 PM

Damn CyNick, shouldn't you be off listening to Jim Cornette interviews and podcasts instead of posting on this forum?

hb2k 03-28-2016 03:54 PM

It's very typical of the wrestling business for the journalism around it to be reminiscent of knock-and-run at times. Meltzer isn't really guilty, but these guys on the fringes are the worst.
