WrestleMania 35 - Detroit Currently The Favorite To Host
 

Based on tweets by several insiders, WWE is circling Detroit for WrestleMania 35 in 2019. WWE recently held “Hell In A Cell” at the new Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit. Ford Field is currently undergoing a $100 million renovation. Should WWE return to the Motor City for WrestleMania 35 it will mark 12 years since WrestleMania 23 and 32 years since Wrestlemania III. Keep in mind this is just a rumor, however many other sites such as Cageside Seats and WrestleZone are reporting it as well. WWE will return to Little Caesar’s Arena in December and an announcement could be made at that time.

I can see it. Rumor for a while was that they wanted to stay out of places that were cold and such, but I can see them occasionally taking a break for your more southern Manias.

Having it in a dome also helps for weather reasons.

Them holding Mania 29 in New Jersey was a huge risk considering early Spring weather in the Northeast can be pretty miserable at times.

I missed this in Sep but Wrestling News World mentioned that WWE was arriving in Detroit earlier than typical for HIAC because of a scheduled stadium tour of upgrades to Ford Field:
