Ooooh can't wait for this! Me and my girlfriend binge watched Dexter last year after so many people recommending it to me since it first aired!

Frank Drebin 09-14-2021 11:33 AM

Is he gonna try to fuck his dead sister?

Seanny One Ball 09-14-2021 11:43 AM

They were married IRL and she left him during his cancer treatment.

Frank Drebin 09-14-2021 12:11 PM

So hot

Good News Gertie 09-14-2021 01:49 PM

Usually the male spouses leave their wives when they get sick. Way to break away from those gender norms!

Juan 09-18-2021 03:26 AM

Super pumped for this

Juan 09-18-2021 03:28 AM

I guess I should finally get around to watching the final episode of the original series. Someone spoiled it for me before I could watch it and I never did.

Frank Drebin 09-18-2021 10:01 PM

Tony Soprano dies.

Great, I guess I'll just kill myself now.

I skipped seasons 5, 6, and 8

At least you know why nobody wants you long term now.
When somebody finally does, it’s probably because they are hoping you don’t have long left.

Lock Jaw 11-08-2021 12:02 AM

Watched the first episode.... was pretty alright...

drave 11-08-2021 08:59 AM

awww shit, forgot this started. been watching the amazing 2nd season of new Animaniacs.

Seanny One Ball 11-08-2021 01:10 PM

Underwhelming.

Dexter is back though and if the long run is anything to go by, this show runner at least did season 4 so there is a chance it will build towards brilliance once more. It wasn’t bad at all, just very formulaic but that will likely draw us into a season of this kid’s dad trying to get Dexter.

It has excellent potential after a 2.5/4 first episode that was likely designed to make you re-familiar with Dexter the way the original producers wanted him.

Seanny One Ball 11-27-2021 05:09 PM

I’m enjoying it so far, the second and third episodes had some great moments.

Original showrunner, you have done it again.

Lock Jaw 12-13-2021 12:05 AM

Business has picked up!

Lock Jaw 12-20-2021 05:54 PM

Just watched the latest episode.... hot damn was a hot episode.... three episodes left and dunno where it is gonna go....

Seanny One Ball 12-20-2021 06:36 PM

It has been good enough to savour, the build up is paced very well.

Lock Jaw 12-26-2021 11:50 PM

Two episodes left and we are heading for a heck of an ending hopefully

Lock Jaw 01-09-2022 07:49 PM

Finale tonight..... I didn't watch last week's episode yet, so gonna watch the two back to back....

Seanny One Ball 01-09-2022 08:06 PM

Last weeks was tits. So fucking brilliant. If they have anything left for the finale I will be astonished.

Lock Jaw 01-09-2022 08:11 PM

I knew last week would be crazy and I'd want the finale right away, so I saved it

Seanny One Ball 01-09-2022 08:17 PM

Imagine if you got hit by a bus full of AIDS before now though.

Food for thought.

Lock Jaw 01-10-2022 12:05 AM

Great ending. Almost worth the lackluster original ending of the series and the waiting 10 years for his son to be grown.

Seanny One Ball 01-10-2022 01:56 AM

This series has been nothing short of brilliant.
That is a masterclass in episodic television writing. I actually wanted to cheer several times.

Seanny One Ball 01-10-2022 02:31 AM

Also as far as climaxes go, that season just ripped the arse out of it.
No way can the show continue with any sustained quality akin to that. All of the potential for a future was balled up and chucked right at you.

They hot shot that bitch with at least three different endings rolled into one.

Glorious.

Juan 02-10-2022 04:39 AM

Finally got around to finishing this. Holy shit!

Total redemption from that finale from the original series.

Seanny One Ball 02-10-2022 03:35 PM

It took no prisoners and reminded us of the evil within the protagonist. An evil that had been unscrupulously played as heroism for too long.

Juan 02-11-2022 02:52 AM

Agreed

Corporate CockSnogger 02-12-2022 01:44 PM

This show as a whole was very good. Massive step up from season 5-8 of the original run, but they failed to land the ending for me. Really rushed and nonsensical final episode after a really well paced season up to that point.

ron the dial 02-21-2022 11:40 PM

do i need to use spoiler tags? i don't ever post about this stuff. not sure of protocol. let's play it safe.

just finished up episode 2.

SPOILER: show
absolutely loving it. the lack of dexter voiceover for the first half or so of the first episode was brilliant. once he snaps back in after the white buck is shot is a beautiful payoff. glad we didn't play around for episodes with the will he/won't he game. also glad they lean into him being sloppy and didn't try to run from it or suddenly make it that ten years removed he got really good at being discrete.

deb just calling dexter on his shit is beautiful. that scene where she's like pawing at his mouth and sticks the bullet in? wild.

ron the dial 02-22-2022 12:33 AM

truly missed that old thrill of thinking "dexter you fucking idiot!" in a good way

ron the dial 02-23-2022 05:24 PM

well i feel much better about dexter as a whole after finishing this. makes me want to go back and watch at least seasons 1 and 4 again.

Lengua 02-23-2022 08:27 PM

I did a rewatch after and the first thing that surprised me was just how fleshed out the characters were in season 1. Very refreshing.

Seanny One Ball 02-26-2022 03:37 PM

When I rewatched season 1 I just thought how awful Deb is as a character.
