CM Punk is right!

Who the fuck is Hangman Adam Page to come out and white knight for Colt Cobana, a loser wrestler podcaster who could only hope to be a weak Joe Rogan career clone.

These EVPs are not doing what's "best for business" by shooting on the company's biggest draw...and for who Colt Cobana...Colt fucking Conbana!

Mr. Nerfect 09-06-2022 04:51 PM

I think a lot of the wrestling lockerroom politics stuff is childish bullshit. Especially how far the WWF took it. But if I were a were a veteran, I’d be very reluctant to work with Adam Page, let alone put him over. Part of what you want to pass onto someone is the ability to make other guys themselves so people can keep enjoying wrestling. What faith would I have that he’s got any clue as to what to do, how to do it or who to do it with?

Stu Hart 09-06-2022 04:57 PM

He is an empty-headed moron.

If he had an issue with Colt Cobana being shifted to ROH, he should have taken it up with TK. To go into business for himself, and paint the top draw as lockerroom poison is just stupid- especially if he is a supposed executive vice president.

Taking all the emotion and loyalties aside,if i had to dump Cobana to bring in punk, I would do it - what the fuck did Colt Cobana do to put AEW on the map?

XL 09-06-2022 04:58 PM

Hey! Cabana created the concept of the podcast. Joe Rogan would be a nobody if it wasn’t for Colt.

Mr. Nerfect 09-06-2022 05:05 PM

He does reek of “I’m way more important than I am.” Cutting that weird and toothless promo on Punk and taking away that trust before your main event is pretty self-sabotaging.

Stu Hart 09-07-2022 04:05 AM

They are a shitty version of the Kliq..and the EVP titles have gone to their heads.

Simple Fan 09-07-2022 03:25 PM

What exactly did Hangman do going to work for himself? I don't really recall anything on air.

Meh. Seemed like a good promo for that program to me. Punks a bitter old man.

ron the dial 09-07-2022 03:32 PM

i'm with you on that. pretty innocuous pro wrestling promo.

drave 09-07-2022 03:33 PM

Mmhmm.

And it's interesting that just before all this nonsense, Seth Rollins was talking about his experience with Cena and promos. Cena told him,

"Have thick skin, anything that is said on tv is fair game." (this is just in my web-o-sphere of videos I watched, not that it was headline news)

And he's right. Be a fucking professional, CM Pussy.

I don't know facts from speculation, but if the Bucks and Omega did "smash into the locker room yelling", they are also some unprofessional twats.

Everyone sucks here.

xrodmuc316 09-07-2022 03:35 PM

CM Punk is not right, he is just less wrong in this situation. Doesn't mean he is any less of a turd than he has always been.

I don't recall anybody at the time thinking/saying "oh man Page got a Colt Cabana dig in!" because it was not at all obvious. If Punk himself didn't get so offended, would anybody even remember it today? It is only an issue because Punk himself made it an issue.

McLegend 09-07-2022 03:41 PM

So I do think that he did go to far. However with that said who cares just go do business and move on.

I remember Punk on the infamous Colt Cabanna podcast Punk talking about how people didn’t want to work with him because they thought he(being Punk) being a dick. If someone is dick that it shouldn’t matter and you should still work with people. So Punk has to take his own advice.

I also paraphrased that Punk comment, but it was definitely something like that.

Also I guess Adam Page struck a nerve.

Simple Fan 09-07-2022 03:50 PM

That save AEW from Punk line hitting pretty hard right now.

Stu Hart 09-07-2022 04:03 PM

That Adam Page shoot comment struck a nerve because Punk is being blamed for Colt being moved to ROH. This narrative has been pushed by dirt sheets and the boards even though TK stated thats simply not the case. He never mentioned Colt or the situation up until these EVPs started getting pissy about it - and blaming him.

These EVPs are looking out for their buddies instead of the company - all of which infuriated Punk - and he addressed all of it at the scrum - to the very media who were pushing forth that narrative.

The EVP days of AEW are over. Tony needs the office to not be in ring workers, or a kliq. , and he needs to make examples of this kliq right now.

Kenny Omega and the buck twins cannot separate their personal feelings from their roles, and it was evident when they stormed the dressing room of the company's top draw. CM Punk will still be in AEW! He aint going anywhere

ron the dial 09-07-2022 04:21 PM

punk went out of his way to bury "scott colton" for like 20 minutes to start that presser, and as far as i know colt hasn't said word one about this since punk came on board with aew. it was completely unnecessary and unprofessional to handle it the way punk did. punk is as much a problem as the other evp turds that leak shit. like i've already said, fuck all of them.

Stu Hart 09-07-2022 04:28 PM

Punk hadn't said anything about Colt either, its these EVP shitheads who have been telling the media that Colt has been demoted due to Punk.

Even if that were true - so what ? Punk is the star of the show - if one of the conditions was "Im not coming to AEW if Colt is there" that was Tony's call. IF Tom Cruise didnt want to do a movie because of some extra, do you think the producers would storm Toms dressing room and start getting in his face?

ron the dial 09-07-2022 04:32 PM

right so burying a guy who hasn't said a word about the situation and using his real name and brining his mom into it is the appropriate response i see

ron the dial 09-07-2022 04:32 PM

like everyone can be fucking wrong and stupid in this situation. we don't need to pick teams.

Stu Hart 09-07-2022 04:35 PM

It wasn't some random thing that Punk just brought up out of the blue. This was stirred up by colt's boys... If someone kept blaming you for something, and putting it out in the media constantly, and taking shots at you on live tv about it..you wouldnt eventually confront it ?

Stu Hart 09-07-2022 04:36 PM

Could Punk have handled it better? We can all sit here and say that - but he is a human being -with frustrations and emotions.

AEW needs to lose this EVP nonsense and develop a proper management structure.

It is an easy story to tell because Colt did vanish from TV once Punk was there. Sitting here today, I do not think Punk asked Tony to get rid of Colt, but why would he even have to? The second Tony got the guy he always wanted, he was going to do things to make that guy happy.

Colt not being there in the same building with Punk so they do not need to interact is a logical move. Even so, it did create that speculation because of Punk's heat with Colt. Him getting bent out of shape over that is an over reaction and drew WAY more attention to it than a throwaway comment made by Adam Page.

The fighting part of it, I think the events are harder to sort out. Punk did say during the scrum to come see him if there is a problem and "Let's Fucking Go" implying he and whoever could fight.

Now did the Elite hear that and mean to take him up on that offer and throw down first, or did they show up and in Punk's mind did that mean they were taking him up on that offer and he threw down on them first.

I think that distinction should and will be the difference between Punk being suspended or fired (assuming Punk didn't/doesn't flat out quit).

As far as the EVP positions, I would have to think they are going to be let go from those. Whether that causes Kenny or the Bucks to quit, who knows because I do not know how much those positions even mean to them. As wrestlers/talent they should get suspended at least as long as Kingston did (2 weeks), up to maybe 6 weeks, but nothing beyond that.

Ace Steele should have already been fired, that should have been the first announcement after this. His actions with the chair thrown is felonious assault and should 100% result in being fired.

I dunno Adam who'd ya take it from?

Mr. Nerfect 09-07-2022 06:16 PM

Punk is more correct in the macro sense. AEW is fucking its chances every day because of the amateur bullshit. That’s true. It’s got to be incredibly frustrating as someone who wants to be a part of something big to have part of the team constantly shitting the bed. The bullshit they stir up around talent has been alleged for the longest time. They seem like very insecure people to me, and have for the longest time. They gloat about being selfless while being some of the most obviously self-serving acts in the history of wrestling. They’re not too far from the indy versions of Hulk Hogan.

We need to know more about the confrontation. But I don’t get how people can defend The Elite in this. Almost all the insults thrown at Punk and his ego are almost doubly true about those fucking anal discharges. And Tony Khan is not blameless in this at all. He props up ALL these guys.

Punk was also in the ring with him at the time, why not go back at him then? He waited til he came back and thew a cheap shot knowing Page wasn't coming out. With AEW being this less scripted product I really don't see Punks problem with Hangman unless something else went down.

Destor 09-07-2022 11:13 PM

Punk, who made a career going into business for himself, doesnt like someone doing his shtick is all. Dilutes his brand.

Agreed, just Phil in his own head letting things continually piss him off.

If the UFC didn't dilute his brand this championship run sure did. I give props to Hangman for doing it in Punks face.

Simple Fan 09-08-2022 12:13 AM

He acts like Hangman was a heel during that feud trying to flip the script but they were both faces. Hangman had to go there to even hang with Punk on the mic. Punk couldn't hang with Hangman in the ring. I'm convinced he broke his foot trying the Buckshot.

Probably timing issues on the show. The segment called for a Hangman Page promo, then it’s on to other matches and the like.

I don’t think the promo itself is what’s set Punk off. He may have been as confused as everyone else. It’s the backstage manipulations of Omega & The Bucks and their attempts to assassinate the character of Punk because they’re threatened by his influence.

That’s what Punk’s point in the media scrum about stepping on your own dick was about. You don’t take this babyface who is supposed to be drawing you money and try and tear down their reputation on the air. It’s just stupid pro-wrestling. Didn’t Eddie Kingston try a similar thing? Over time it wears on your that muppets are allowed to do that.

I get why someone wouldn’t want to work with Page on principle now. The guy seems like an idiot. He tried to big dog a bigger dog because he’s a mark for his position. Plus why would you want to work with a guy who has seemingly got very little respect for others and such bad instincts? Plus, you just plain can’t trust the guy.

Ol Dirty Dastard 09-09-2022 01:55 PM

Punk is salty but I can't imagine him making all this shit up in his head. This type of thing doesn't come from nowhere. Kenny, Hangman, and the Bucks were always gonna try to play innocent good guy leaders. But there's no doubt in my mind that they've been scheming and it caught up to them.

Destor 09-09-2022 02:34 PM

IWA-MS - Punk left on bad terms
TNA - Punk got heat immediately and was let go
RoH - Left on good terms
OVW - got heat with most vets. Got called up as a pet project by Heyman and not recommended internally.
WWE - Left on bad terms. Heat with 70% of the roster
AEW - has heat with 70% of the roster

Yeah im sure this is the other guys fault

Stu Hart 09-09-2022 02:44 PM

Just watch the elite react to punks debut ovation . The jealousy was there to begin with :

While that’s obviously a bit I have little doubt there’s some jealousy factor involved for the sheer fact that Punk is a bigger star than the Bucks

I was going through the list of places Punk worked and actually put OVW as a positive for Punk. I remember the Tony Atlas incident, but what other heat did he get? I’m also unfamiliar with TNA. I just kind of washed that one out.

The Bucks got heat with WWE, TNA, got sideways with ROH for a long time and fucked over New Japan. Omega has basically the same story, minus TNA.

while I don't really care for the Bucks, this is so accurate. I actually prefer Punk rather then watching Omega or the Bucks from a watching him on TV standpoint, but yeah the guy is a cancer man. But I also think OMega and the Bucks belong nowhere near running a legit wrestling company.
