A first time ever in the UK!
I assume this is the announcement that there will be RAW and Smackdown! in the UK. Am I correct?
|
Yes
|
ok
|
Didn't WCW do that a few months before they folded, when they were getting similar crowd attendances as the WWE are now?
|
Yeah and WCW were selling out those shows too. Just a shame it took them that long to do it.

I do find this timing rather odd though, they're doing bad business now so who do they come to look for for help? The UK! They know they're gonna sell tickets over here no matter what, which is why i think the Raw and Smackdown! over here will suck.Though it will be cool to see the shows on TV while being aired over here.
|
It will be cool to watch a live RAW over here.

Why would Raw and Smackdown suck anymore now in England than they would in Toronto, Buffalo, Little Rock or Salt Lake City? They all go out to the same international audience. |
Plus the pound is alot stronger so 3000 UK fans means alot more than 3000 US fans. And the Smackdown and Raw shows will legit sell out so that's 2 days of 16000 fans
You do the math |

I wanna go watch the RAW in Manchester but I probably won't.
It'll feel weird watching RAW live on a monday night for the first time ever though. :o |
Is it even the Raw taping that night?
|
The RAW is at the Manchester Evening News arena for sure, I dunno where the Smackdown one is though.

Well I'll be getting free tickets for either, if not both shows. Don't mean to brag about it
|
I think they're doing both shows on consecutive nights at the M.E.N..
Raw on Monday, Smackdown on Tuesday. |

The last UK tour was completely sold out from what I read. |
They haven't been to London since May 2003 and they have had at least two tours since then and not come to London. I didn't say the last London show didn't sell out. I was there and it looked pretty sold out to me.
The last UK wasn't a complete sell out and the tour prior to that did a lot worse. |
Well from what ive seen, all the shows over in the uk have been practically sold out and it'll continue to be that way i think. Especially if they're doing more stuff like this in future, i for one would get the tickets to see either raw or smackdown if not both if it was near me.(in London)
I just reckon it would suck anyway, cos everytime ive seen a ppv over here it has sucked. And the titles never change hands, apart from one time when crash won the european title but lost it the next night on raw. |

I've been at UK shows where the IC, Tag, European and Hardcore titles all changed hands. I see your point though but here's the deal, this TV taping is INTERNATIONAL. There is no way they will do UK PPV standard shows and put that on Raw and Smackdown. They will be basically what you see on TV every week but it's in Manchester.

I wonder why WWE have decided against using Earls Court.. a large arena unused since Insurrextion 2002. Maybe it could be used for the shows next May. |
Earls Court is a fu</>cking mare to get 14,000 in at once though. Transport around the area is usually the sh</>its too.
|
Well it's a shame for me I live only 5 minutes away from it :( Used to be 1 minute buty I moved a bit down the road :O.
I think Earls COurt is also a bit bigger than 14,000 I think 17,000 ish. Hopefully once The Millenium Dome is completed they will consider staging events there, should have a good atmosphere. |
