Raven's WCW push...
I remember he was in the middle of a push (circa early 1999) that abruptly ended due to backstage politics in WCW.
This push had him portrayed as a smart, rich, ivy league punk that was at odds with his mother (with Kanyon by his side). I remember videos were shown inside Raven's home which showed lots of old wrestling magazines in his closet. More specifically, I remember Raven being mesmorized by the cover of Roddy Piper on one of those magazines. I honestly think that this would've been a terrific angle, with several possibilites that would've ultimately pushed Raven to main event status. :-\ My question- Where was WCW going to go with this angle? I definately know that Roddy Piper was to be involved, but in what scenerio? |
I didn't really watch WcW but I think I remember Raven hanging out with Kanyon at the time and driving about in a convertible ;)

i think it was supposed to bring chasity into wcw and also to cement kanyon and raven as a tag team.. i thought it was good until it was dropped my favorite one was when they went to the bank and raven took out all this money and they went clothes shopping i think that was where kanyon got the shirt he wore until wcw closed
|
That also brought Sandman into WCW as Hak.

I remember reading somewhere (either on a Raven shoot interview tape review or on a transcript of a radio interview) that Raven pitched the idea of working with Piper to elevate him to main event status, but Bischoff basically shot it down.
