WWE'S BIGGEST SUCCESS
We had a WWE biggest failure thread.
lets see what you smarks and marks think the biggest successes have been fr the WWE this year? I'd say: Wrestlemania 20, the whole event, esspecially the ending with benoit and Eddie The John Cena Push The Randy Orton Push The prospects for Taboo Tuesday |
The Taboo Tuesday idea
Orton push toward title Cena push Bringing Gangrel back |
WTF? The cruiserweight match at Wrestlemania was one of the most dissappointing matches in WM history.
|
I would say the Benoit and Eddie World Title reigns and Ortons push.
I dont consider Cena as he more forced his way up the card where as Orton got a good push which made him over. |
Definately Bentoit's title reign as well as Eddie's reign (up until the start of his feud with JBL).
|
Eddie's Title Reign
Randy Orton's Push The Smackdown/RAW Draft, though I think Taker should of gone over to RAW. |
Chris Benoit, World Heavyweight Champion
Eddie Guerrero, WWE Champion HHH tapping to the crossface at Wrestlemania |
To be really honest with you, making JBL WWE Champion has really made my boat float.
|
same here... JBL is da man.

for me it would have to be the Benoit/Eddie title reigns... that was by far the best thing to happen in WWE in recent years.
Up until the whole JBL/Eddie feud of course. Orton's push was done well until the screwed it up by makin him champ to quickly. Cena was also a big success. |
John Cena is the man
mordecai's gimmick.. up till they released him of course and eddie's title run, HE WAS GOLD.. well he still is.. but damn he was one of the best WWE champions i've seen in a LONG time also, Orton's win at summerslam.. can't help it i was there |
Benoit winning the title at WM 20 or the Randy Orton push.
|
Orton's push deffinately.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Eugene. (Speaking as Overall. Sometimes he sucked.) The whole Jericho/Christian feud. Benoit's Title Reign. |
The Undertaker's dead man gimmick. even though he still looks like the "american bad ass"..... nut they should have kept kane masked..... he was one of my favorites and now i think he is pure crap.
|
Looking at it from a much more macro standpoint, I'd definatly have to say their explotation of old footage through WWE 24/7, DVD specials, and such. That's really where the big money'll come in.

The Ric Flair Collection, Hard Knocks, The Chris Benoit Story, Monday Night Wars DVD, and the new line of DVD releases in the upcoming future
|
Benoit-Winning the Rumble, Winning at WM, and having a pretty long reign until August. But now they are screwing him over.
|
Eugene Dinsmore was great, too. :y:

In '04?
The build to the Benoit and Guerrero title reigns, pretty much...the ending of Wrestlemania 20, and the big fanfare behind both of them. It was just classic. Orton's push UNTIL Summerslam. This was the -wrong- time to turn him face. His title win reminds me a LOT of the Big Show's win in 1999. I'm still not sure about him as a face yet, though his promo with Flair was absolute PLATINUM. I dunno about Cena. He's definitely the top talent on SmackDown, but he's also standing right under the glass ceiling. I would have said '03 was more of a Cena year than '04. So yeah, as it stands... the Benoit-Guerrero title reigns were the only things that seemed to pay off. I've never heard Benoit pops as loud as they have been recently...ditto for Guerrero (remember when he was the X-Pac of the Radicalz and people would just chant "EDDIE SUCKS!")...both of them proved that they could be fan favorites and WWE champions. as for Orton, the verdict's still out. I think past this Monday, people will start getting behind him more due to his own merit, rather than WWE forcing him down people's throats. |
I liked when Dupree accused Tazz of having fleas. That was fun.
|
Orton push, Eddie as Champ, Shelton Benjamin as a single's wrestler, Undertaker darkside, Teddy Long as SD GM
|
Jericho/Christian Feud
Eugene Gimmick But both are outshone by the biggest thing in the wrestling business today AJ Styles. |
