WTF? The cruiserweight match at Wrestlemania was one of the most dissappointing matches in WM history.

I would say the Benoit and Eddie World Title reigns and Ortons push.
I dont consider Cena as he more forced his way up the card where as Orton got a good push which made him over. |

Definately Bentoit's title reign as well as Eddie's reign (up until the start of his feud with JBL).

Randy Orton's Push The Smackdown/RAW Draft, though I think Taker should of gone over to RAW. |

for me it would have to be the Benoit/Eddie title reigns... that was by far the best thing to happen in WWE in recent years.
Up until the whole JBL/Eddie feud of course. Orton's push was done well until the screwed it up by makin him champ to quickly. Cena was also a big success. |

Orton's push deffinately.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Eugene. (Speaking as Overall. Sometimes he sucked.) The whole Jericho/Christian feud. Benoit's Title Reign. |

Looking at it from a much more macro standpoint, I'd definatly have to say their explotation of old footage through WWE 24/7, DVD specials, and such. That's really where the big money'll come in.

Benoit-Winning the Rumble, Winning at WM, and having a pretty long reign until August. But now they are screwing him over.

In '04?
The build to the Benoit and Guerrero title reigns, pretty much...the ending of Wrestlemania 20, and the big fanfare behind both of them. It was just classic. Orton's push UNTIL Summerslam. This was the -wrong- time to turn him face. His title win reminds me a LOT of the Big Show's win in 1999. I'm still not sure about him as a face yet, though his promo with Flair was absolute PLATINUM. I dunno about Cena. He's definitely the top talent on SmackDown, but he's also standing right under the glass ceiling. I would have said '03 was more of a Cena year than '04. So yeah, as it stands... the Benoit-Guerrero title reigns were the only things that seemed to pay off. I've never heard Benoit pops as loud as they have been recently...ditto for Guerrero (remember when he was the X-Pac of the Radicalz and people would just chant "EDDIE SUCKS!")...both of them proved that they could be fan favorites and WWE champions. as for Orton, the verdict's still out. I think past this Monday, people will start getting behind him more due to his own merit, rather than WWE forcing him down people's throats. |
