WCW 2.0
I heard several months ago -- actually, may have been right after WMXX -- that Vince was pouring a megaton of money into recreating the WCW. And then it dropped silent. Was this just crap info, or is/was it really gonna happen?
|
I believe that either might have been:
A) Crap information, as you said, or... B) A potential storyline / idea that fizzled... More than likely it was A. A few things about this though: I highly doubt that Vince would bring back WCW (al-though nowadays the desperation leads to many desperate moves), because when he had a chance to do something major with it - he killed it. Vince likes to see his name & his company's name all over, and have that associated with wrestling - not WCW [not that it's a bad thing to want a company you build put first - but he could've used the established name of WCW a hell of a lot better than that]. |
Actually you heard right. Vince has had the company name established once again as an active trading entity. He also has had the designers draft up new logos. The pln to bring it back has already been implemented. Its just a slow process. WCW 2.0 as you put it is correct and its just a quiet move forward

Sweet. I'm not an idiot. :D

WCW is dead. Lets keep it that way.
Make way for TNA! |
It's funny then: When you have a chance to make it good, you blow it. Then you work on bringing the long dead back. It's sad when desperate times bring desperate ideas...
|
Next thing you know he'll be working on DNA / cloning to bring back dead wrestlers.
|
lol I can see it now. Vince clones Owen Hart and has him come back and say he never got a World title shot before he "injured" himself.
A week later, jobs to Triple H. |
They do say "ANYTHING" can happen in the WWE

I believe I heard something about Vince's WCW re-incarnation idea being brought up constantly. But every time he really starts to get it going, he either...
A. Can't come up with any good storylines to use. OR B. Doesn't want the WWE's name associated with a failed product. |

Well wwe is already associated with wbf and xfl, both flopped like a sumo being kicked out of a plane. Wcw may have failed, but it was infinitely more succesful than any of mcmahons other business ventures and at one point was shitkicking wwe. |
Vince says that, but he probably means "a product that was better than mine at one time"...
