BitTorrent 3.3 / other torrent programs
So I "upgraded" to BitTorrent 3.3 a couple days ago, and found out that the thing is full of spyware, and has the annoying donate page thing on it, which pisses me off, also you can't control upload rate or anything, it seems like it is utter shite.
I was recommended NovaTorrent by a certain thieving clown, what does everyone else recommend? Also, those who have used this 3.3, how have you found it? |
I havent upgraded.
If it aint broke, why fix it. Bit Torrent btw I have the old installer if you want. |

the old one was messing me around, so I upgraded
deleted both of them now, gonna try Nova Torrent |
Nova's worked well for me so far, haven't bothered with Bit at all :$

The official Bit Torrent 3.3 download is fine if you get it from the official site, but there are some bogus ones floating around which are riddled with spyware.
Taken from there FAQ: Does BitTorrent contain spyware or adware? No, BitTorrent contains no spyware, adware, or any other kind of -ware. Some warez sites are distributing spyware-wrapped versions of the BitTorrent installer. Please only download the BitTorrent installer from this site. I'm considering legal action against sites which misrepresent their hacked installers as the official one. http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html is where I got mine from, assuming nothing has changed in the last 2 weeks this should be spyware free. Hope this helps mate. |

There have been loads of threads on their forums about it, so you aint the only one affected mate. Apparently Suprnova have no real control over the ads which are on their site, or so they say anyway :-\ |

Wait what... BitTorrent is going to take legal actions against websites that load their program with spyware? I have no idea, but I would assume that BitTorrent isn't exactly the most legal-friendly program in the first place anyways, so that strikes me as odd.
Anyways, yeah I upgraded to 3.3 too and it was shit. I use NovaTorrent now and it rules. |
Burst! is a good one, u can limit ur upload speed to 10KB/s

I have tried a few different clients. Nova torrent is still the best. I love the whole torrent system. just from torrents I have got recently; Halo Unreal tournament Unreal 2 Simpsons hit and run Blues clues abc's and kindergarten games Dora the explorer Judge dredd : dredd vs death Tron 2 Office 2003 Norton 2004 Photoshop 8.0 Nero 6.0 assorted albums (about 20) all with 100% sucsess rate full copies of original CD's with cracks included. no errors no downloads that never finish. I love it. Kazaa was never that good. Please remeber to share fellas.. |
Word, I love using suprnova to get series of old cartoons and TV shows and stuff like that. I got like 85 Batman Animated eps in one torrent, every ep of The Tick in another, every Freakazoid ep...too cool :cool:

I got all five parts of Thundercats Lion-O's Annointment off of soulseek, a couple of guys had every episode :o
