windows update

My puta doesn't seem to be installing windows updates. It uploads them but doesn't install them. How do I correct this??!

no, still 2000, it was a pair of reformats and then installing Norton before doing updates. Seems like I got something like 40+ worms by going online to do updates the first time before putting in updated Norton.
