Anyone else?

Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with thier local UPN station pre-empting Smackdown for baseball or other stuff? We had this problem last week I was wondering if it was something everywhere or just in certain areas.

RGWhat316 04-28-2005 03:56 PM

No, its usually just in certain areas. I've been pre-empted here a few times for Pistons, Tigers, or Red Wing games. But it's usually just if one of your local teams is playing.

It's always local. Here, they used to preempt it for the Mets, but now they don't. The only sport that preempts it now here is Giants Football.

Xero's right. IT's local. UPN is a network of broadcast affiliates. They feed the stuff to local affiliates, and pre-empting happens there. For example, most of the interruptions on my UPN (out of Boston) are Bruins games. I don't know why, but the Sox almost enver interrupt.

Yup, two weeks ago I got the boot for a Nationals game. Like anybody is worried about the Nationals.... :shifty:

Yeah my UPN only gets preempted for the New York Giants....or in some cases important news stories (which pisses me off considering when that happens its also on every other channel)

I get interruptions sometimes, more for basketball than baseball.

by the way, you might want to be a bit more informative about your subject in your subject line.

If she included useful information, no one would read her inane topic and the terrorists would win.

Long as I keep paying.

I don't get SmackDown!, therefore the answer is no.

Xero 04-29-2005 08:53 AM

Speaking of preemptions, last night it was preempted for Bush. I only got the second hour of SmackDown!, just as the Eddie/Mysterio segment was ending. Does anyone know if it will be repeated this weekend in the New York area? I can't find any conformation.

PureHatred 04-29-2005 10:02 AM

Really? Apparently the UPN station here in L.A. didn't give a shit about Bush. i know I heard some peope here in the office complain about Bush pre-empting the OC, but UPN was right on schedule. Strange priorities there.

Maybe its because they know the darkies don't care about politics. [/wwe chat_style]

DaveBrawl 04-29-2005 10:29 AM

Our station got prempted for like Division 3 Carolina League basketball last month during their tournament, but not the president. I guess they feel that basketball taped by a handheld camcorder more important than the president and smackdown. At home the Orioles and basketball interupt sometimes.

redoneja 04-29-2005 03:06 PM

My local UPN is based in Washington DC, so SD! gets preempted every now and then for a fucking Nationals game.

Nervous Ferret 04-29-2005 03:08 PM

yeah I lost the first hour of SmackDown!!!!11!!!!!!!!! last night to Bush

Nervous Ferret 04-29-2005 03:08 PM

Cena jobs to Bush

James Steele 04-29-2005 03:15 PM

My UPN affiliate didn't do shit for Bush.

Yea, that's the same one we have.
I didn't recall any time previously that it had been pre-empted for baseball but I am sure it had been and it irritated me then too.

I didn't watch SD! at all. Why? Cause I just didn't feel like it.

Also I too get pre-empted for Nationals games. What a strange place we live in.
