I just noticed this but If Christian wins the World title one day...

He will be yet another Grand Slam winner.

Intercontinental Champion
World Tag Team Champion
Light Heavyweight Champion
Hardcore Champion
European Champion

Cruiserweight 3:16 04-30-2005 11:59 AM

Does being a grand slam champion really matter? The European title and Light Heavyweight title were always a joke, being a hardcore champion didn't mean anything (until RVD made the title more credible than the I.C. belt), and he was booked poorly when I.C. champion. Only the tag titles he held with Edge made Christian so popular and meaningful to the marks.

BTW I really want Christian to be the World Heavyweight Champion

Nark Order 04-30-2005 12:00 PM

Of course it matters, god damnit.

Christian will be the fucking man.

It only matters if they make it matter. For example, mentioning it, using it to hype him.

Nark Order 04-30-2005 12:03 PM

Which they probably wouldn't bring attention to it...

M. Banana 04-30-2005 12:07 PM

He'll never be World champion...

People actually like him.

Londoner 04-30-2005 12:11 PM

It only matters if your name is Triple H.

Nark Order 04-30-2005 12:14 PM

Trips never won the Light-Heavyweight title. What a loser...

Chuck Jones 04-30-2005 12:14 PM

He'll be the first male to have held every title he could win. Michaels never won the Light-Heavyweight title.

It only has to be winning titles that were available to you, Triple H was never a light heavyweight so he's never had the oppotunity.

But yeah if Christian won the World heavyweight or WWE title, i think he would be the first to win every single title, and i bet that doesn't get mentioned, though i hope it does. This makes me want him to beat Cena even more now.

M. Banana 04-30-2005 12:28 PM

Sarcasm went right over your head didn't it?

Idiot...

asphyXy 04-30-2005 12:58 PM

Jericho has held every title, including the Cruiserweight.

Londoner 04-30-2005 01:34 PM

Well make it abit more obvious its sarcasm then. It's not always easy to spot it on the net...i noticed the 'what a loser' comment could imply sarcasm, but wasn't so sure.

Nark Order 04-30-2005 01:36 PM

lol @ ThugLife neg repping me.

SuperSlim 04-30-2005 01:37 PM

You took off 6 points... Way to even things up.

Londoner 04-30-2005 01:51 PM

^I think you are taking things too seriously.

PureHatred 04-30-2005 02:08 PM

Anyhow...here's hoping its more "when" then "if" Christian wins a World Title. And I think it would fit Captain Charisma perfectly if he went around mentioning the fact that he's a Grand Slam champion constantly in every promo.

I think Kurt was great with the Euro belt.

Kane Knight 04-30-2005 02:15 PM

Now Children, don't make me send you to the corner.

Especially the first promo after he wins it, that could be over the top like Kurt Angle's was when he won the WWE title.

Or King of the Ring.

YOUR Hero 04-30-2005 02:29 PM

The thing to remember, Christian doesn't need the belt to get over.

Now the belt isn't always used to get people over, but it is at times used like that. Don't be surprised if they keep the belt off Christian simply because he's so over at the moment.

Londoner 04-30-2005 02:32 PM

I don't think it's a matter of 'getting over' i think it's more like he actually deserves it.

The belt isn't only about getting over, Hero. It's good marketing to put it on people who are over as well, beyond simply using a way to get people over. I mean, Did Batista get more over when he got the belt? Triple H, Michaels, Goldberg, Benoit, Orton?

The Rock?

YOUR Hero 04-30-2005 03:09 PM

Oh for sure. I never stated the belt was solely used to get people over, but it certainly has been used in that manner.

I'm just saying, the need to put the belt on him, might be weighted by the need to keep it on say... Cena. To keep Cena over, and to tease Christian's winning. No need to rush Christian to a championship. It'll only de-value Cena and the belt... in fact the whole SD! crew.

Nark Order 04-30-2005 03:12 PM

Yeah. I barely give a shit about Cena right now while he is the Champion. If he loses, I'm going to forget the bastard exists. Point taken.

YOUR Hero 04-30-2005 03:12 PM

Bit of an incomplete thought there...

To have a RAW guy come over and win the championship right away or very soon, would be statting that the competition on SD! isn't that strong....

I love Christian, he's awesome. I however want to see the storylines and belts properly managed.

I think Cena's slowly devaluing himself. The fact that there were JBL chants at Wrestlemania makes me wonder if they're editing his segments now. I mean, sure the crowd loves him when he climbs into them, but that's a dozen or so kids and a few others who would probably cheer any face who went into the crowd.

I actually think Cena's gimmick is a strong way to go, but I'm kind of wondering what the FUCK is going on here.

Kane Knight 04-30-2005 03:19 PM

Lost my train of thought. Depending on further reactions to Cena, it may be a good idea to drop the title off him and onto someone who might provide more drawing power. Will Captain Charisma be that man? I don't know, and in fact doubt it. I don't think CC's gonna get pushed right at all, because the WWE is booked by fucking retards.

however, devalued or not, it might be necessary to put it on them.

Plus, it'd rock to see Christian with Cena's belt.

YOUR Hero 04-30-2005 03:29 PM

LOL, could you imagine Christian trying to figure out how the belt works... can't get it to stop spinning or something else along those lines.

Another thought. With Cena just releasing an album, I would think the WWE would want to keep him on top so's to promote, promote, promote promote... one thing you have to give them credit for is their marketing abilities. Guys with hot books, etc are usually on TV every week.

loopydate 04-30-2005 03:30 PM

I can see it now. Christian's first promo after winning the title, and he gives the belt a spin, but it snags the bottom of his t-shirt. He spends the rest of the segment trying to get it untangled, and winds up unbuckling the belt and just letting it dangle from his shirt.

The problem is that Smackdown's already the B-Show, and will continue to be made to look like it in all likelihood.
