Any Face & Heel Turns that haven't worked out???
I was just wondering, wrestlers turn from face to heel all the time, and usually the crowd goes with them. But I was just wondering are there any turns that haven't worked out. Like Faces being booed. And Heels being cheered? Does anyone know about them.
I think I know two: Stone Cold turning heel: I hear they tried making him do terrible things to make the crowd hate him but they kept cheering so they turned him back face. Randy Orton turning face: I heard that crowds thought he was much better as a heel so they turned him back. Anyone know any more? |
I'm pretty sure we did this topic a week ago.

Did we? I'm sorry, I didn't see it.

Austins heel turn didnt really work out...they even made him beat up a girl and the crowd still cheered for him.
I remember reading in Litas book about when they were talking about making Austin a bigger heal by beating up Lita and Austin said that he didnt have a problem hitting a women. I thought it was pretty funny after the whole wife beating thing. |
Undertaker turning heel in 2001-2002. The crowd just doesn't want to boo the Dead Man/Big Evil

sting turning heel
|
Sting's heel turn in the dying days of nWo Wolfpac. After Hogan turned back babyface he and Lex Luger feuded and they both kept trying to convince Sting that the other was not to be trusted. But at the end of the match (can't remember which PPV) Sting and Lex Luger both beat down Hogan and thus Sting turned heel. It didn't last no time before they turned him back face because the crowd kept cheering him as much as before. He just could not get over as heel.

as well as Goldberg's heel turn.
|
That was awful...
Also David Arquettes Heel turn. They didn't care about him as a face. Who'd care about him as a heel? |
When Mabel turned heel and squashed Oscar. Horrible stuff. Also, when they turned the Godfather into the goodfather.
|
Eddie Guerrero's heel turn when he got jealous of Rey Mysterio's success.:shifty: And the fans just kept screaming "Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!"
|
When they turned Rikishi heel. "I did it for the Rock." The fans weren't cheering for him but still nobody really took him as a serious main event heel.

Kurt Angle and Steve Austin after Survivor Series 2002.
Angle saved the WWE by screwing over Austin and the Alliance the night before, but for some reason, the next night on RAW, Kurt was the heel and Stone Cold was a bigger face than ever before. I was so confused that night. |
Actually, on the topic of Eddie, his heel turn against Tajiri didn't pan out too well... a month or two later he was face again because the crowd just loved him.

Angle's face turn of 2002, it wasn't really a failure, but he was the only face left, when he beat Austin he got a decent reaction, but the whole thing seemed really forced and didn't really work IMO.
Rock's face run of 2003 when he jobbed to Brock, man the fans really turned against him there, then when he came back as heel they cheered him, the guy couldn't win. Maven's heel turn, only because no one cares about him. Which is a shame cos he got some really good heat against Shelton at NYR Hogan trying to be a heel in 2002 just didn't work, he could have killed members of the crowd and it still wouldn't work |
Maven's heel turn isn't that bad. People hate him being with Simon Dean

Hogan 2002
|
Angle Austin was 2001.
Rock jobbing to Brock was 2002. Now that is said, Hogan 2002, Austin 2001. |
