TNA news
Jeff Hardy has been suspended by TNA, and was sent home until further notice in a disciplinary action designed to punish him for his irresponsibility in no-showing the Hard Justice PPV, missing numerous flights out of North Carolina to Orlando this past Sunday. Hardy did arrive after the PPV and was at the hotel where the wrestlers stay but arrived so late TNA needed to substitute Sean Waltman into a match he had been advertised for against Raven. Hard Justice wasn't been the first time that Hardy was late (or an outright no-show) at TNA events, although he had been on his best behavior in recent months. There were plans being formulated for Hardy to team with his brother Matt once Matt was available to come to TNA following his WWE release, although Jeff's status with the company will have to be resolved before that plan can move forward. It may be that he's being sent home until Matt is available to come in to keep his eyes on Jeff.
NWA champion AJ Styles and TNA X-Division Christopher Daniels have both signed new deals with TNA, which is a major positive move in my opinion as losing either would be completely detrimental to the future health of the company. Boo hoo

It looks as if they're the two TNA are deciding to push as the top people in the company, which as mentioned is a smart move

It might get them a better TV deal and time slot. Those guys are money. They're a great foundation to build there company around. Chris Daniels is gunna be the man. |
Its nice to hear that they will keep onto Fallen Angel and Styles...they ARE TNA
yea I read online that they would of let Jeff go because of his actions the only reason they kept him was the hopes of getting a good buyrate when they decide to do the whole Hardy Boys reunion after they get ahold of V1. |
:y:

Gail Kim

So...Uhhh...What exactly was the deal with Jeff, anyway? I know being late or no show is nothing new for him, but they actually substituted X-Pac for him?
Talk about the fans suffering for the performer's mistakes. I'm not a big Jeff HArdy fan, but I would rather see him fall from someplace high than X-Pac...Well, do anything. |
good moves by TNA

Just thinking about Jeff missing Hard Justice....
Maybe he was sick? He is human after all. |

It's being said that he missed a few flights. He showed up, but he was too late for his match. I thought I'd be bored shitless watching Xpac too, but he actually had a pretty decent match with Raven. First time I've ever seen Xpac in any sort of hardcore match. He stapled Raven's forehead. |

If TNA hires Gail Kim, Jazz, Jacqueline and Molly Holly they've got themselves a top notch women's division.
Anyway, I'm glad to ehar AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels are staying. I just can't wait until we get TNA in Australia. Has anyone heard anything about the Slammiversary main event? I heard something about it being AJ Styles vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Abyss vs. Monty Brown vs. Jeff Hardy, in a King of the Mountain Match with Hardy now scheduled to be replaced with someone. Maybe they'll choose Daniels? What are the rules to a King of the Mountain Match? If there is some kind of elimination rule to it, having the match come down to AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels may not be a bad move. |
I don't exactly remember, but it's like a reverse ladder match. You have to hang the belt or summat.
|
You have pin someone and then u can hang belt. The person that u have just pinned goes into a "penalty box" for 2 mins.(at least that was the rules in the original).
|
nice to hear they have AJ and Daniels signed like that.

This is clearly another case of Jeff Hardy's rabid unprofessionalism. He was probably at home, blazing up and writing terrible song lyrics. |
Offical statment from TNA website about the signing of AJ and Daniels...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nashville, TN (May 17, 2005) – TNA Entertainment, LCC is pleased to announce today that “Phenomenal” AJ Styles & “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels have signed long term contracts with the company through 2008. “We are thrilled to have two of the brightest young stars in professional wrestling committed to our company for the long term,” said Dixie Carter, President TNA Entertainment. “AJ and Christopher have been an important part of TNA’s success from beginning.” TNA is in the process of signing all of its talent to long term agreements. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn't realise that they are trying to get long term contracts from everyone...this is a "Big Company" step for them. I mean really only the "Big Two" ever signed contracts that lasted 5 or so years...once in a while a wrestler would sign on for one other then WCW or WWF but not many. I would be interested to know what the contracts look like as far as Pay, Working elsewhere, and breeching contracts. |

Of course, most of that came out of talks with AKI/EA over a video game license, so I took it with a grain of salt. If they're getting serious, it might be really good news. Or too little, too late. |
Yeah I remember the whole news about the Video Game...I said I will believe it when I see it. I said the same thing about their line of Action Figures as well...and they shut me up, so let's see what they can do with this.
|
this is a bit off topic but i downloaded lock down and i'm sure i heard the announcers say it was being veiwed in over 52 countries such as america japan and Australia so i wanna know if anyone got that ppv coz i would still order it to get away from the wwe.
if any one can answer that i'd be quite happy :y: |
I am almost positive that TNA doesn't have international distribution. Nor do I remember Tenay saying such a thing. I could be mistaken (lord knows I am usually) but until this international ESPN thing goes down I don't think TNA has been viewed anywhere outside of the United States...maybe Canada, but I am almost positive it isn't even in the UK yet.

Actually WWE does mind, and TNA still insists his name is Sean Waltman...and it isn't wrong for the announcers to say he former wrestled under the name X-Pac...what you are probably thinking is that Raven called him X-Pac...which was done in a promo and for some reason you're allowed to make references to other promotions copy rights in promos. But yeah WWE still owns X-Pac and Syxx...though not Syxx-Pac. ;)

edit: wait, no it said PAC. stupid waltman trying to confuse me. |
He IS a sly devil. ;)

its not up to date in the UK though. Destination X was on on Saturday night. It used to be like 6 months behind but they jumped it up to only 2 months behind now i think. Hopefully they can get it live if TNA get a more decent TV deal in USA.

Oh god I completely agree. I am not expecting a video game any time soon, I honestly don't know what good it owuld do even if it was released. From my understanding Raw vs. SmackDown and WrestleMania 21 are both rather big flops, and those are WWE video games. We all know the UFC video games sucked...so I don't know what TNA is hoping to accomplish by making one. IF they make one. I still maintain they could have a release date and I wouldn't believe it until I saw it at Game Stop...

UFC were flop games because they often didn't have the right people in them, and they blew ass. What TNA could have going for them is that wrestling game fans consider AKI the holy grail of game developers, and an EA/AKI game might have selling value above and beyond a WWE game like WM21. If anytyhing, the game could be a gateway for casual fans to get into TNA if it ever comes out. Just like a real show at a good time, only not as big or to the same market. |

So they have to get a pin then hang the belt to win? Judging by how slow wrestlers seem to find ladder climbing at the end of the penalty time the opponent would be on the second rung from the bottom. :wtf: |

If I am not mistaken, the current NWA Women's World Champion is Lexie Fyfe (she has been champ since she beat Kiley McLean on April 23)
Though it would be interesting to note, that TNA has already had a Women's belt. I think it was called 'Miss TNA Title" or something stupid like that. Bruce won the title on one of the earlier weekly PPVs and more or less it was never mentioned again. |

A hook is hung from the rafters and wrestlers try to climb the ladder to place the belt on the hook in order to win the match. It sounds bizarre, but like Kane Knight said, it is like a reverse ladder match. Because there are 6 men in the match, you can imagine that trying to climb the ladder inevitably leads to being pushed off. So, what TNA did was to have men "eliminated" if they were pinned. An elimination would mean they would have to spend about a minute in the small steel cage on the outside (so they couldn't interfere and allow for opponents to climb the ladder). After sixty seconds the wrestler was let out the cage and could re-enter the match. There is no limit to how many men can be eliminated and put in the cage (which often leads to small altercations in the cage). The whole thing is mildly entertaining, but is basically a glorified ladder match with a small steel cage as a distraction (and often a weapon - AJ took a massive bump off the ladder into the cage in the last event) The last King of the Mountain was won by Jarrett. Although the finish was a little fucked when the hook fell off and Jarrett couldn't actually place the belt down at all. TNA should stop trying to be innovative already. |
