Hi, does anyone know what happened with JBL, I just found it so strange that he was in a tag team for years and years, and then suddenly, out of nowhere became WWE champion. Did he make some friends backstage? What exactly happened?

Vince likes to capitalize on controversy. Being fired from CNBC (?) for goose-stepping in Germany warranted a main-event push in Vince's eyes.

Plus, it doesn't hurt that he has been with the company forever, is an asshole to the "new guys," and is friends with the Undertaker.

Hassan was banned off Raw thats why he's in the main event now.

Hardocre holly pissed on Mordecais career thats why he became champ for so long.

The funny thing is I never knew who JBL was. I always heard his inititials here and there but didnt know it was Bradshaw. Big surprise there considering he sucks.

JBL was fired from cnbc after he became champ. There was actually talk of pushing him to the main event after his passionate 9/11 speech, but it was decided to hold off on that.

Okay, so my timeline's a bit off, but the goosestep was pre-title, right?

But when he turned into JBL, he was pretty much thrust straight into the main event.
