Cruiserweights told to slow down

What the hell?!?! |
I've read this before... like six times in the last three years. No surprises really, especially after the recent injuries

No high risk moves? Doesnt that defeat the point of cruiserweights?
|
well ya know. it's to keep them as long as possible
and also you don't want a bunch of cruiserweights outshinin your top draws do you? That's not good business. |
If they get any slower they'll be HEavyweights.

So does this mean that RVD and Eddie Guerrero are no longer going to do their frog splashes? |

basic 7 minute match up consisting of the following. 5 minutes of armbar/head holds 1 minute and 30 seconds of punches, kicks and clotheslines last 30 seconds hyping the crowd and doing a finisher |
Everyone knows it'd be bad business to outshine Undertaker, Viscera, or Chris Masters in the ring.

...I knew there was a reason I've been watching UFC lately.
It seems that WWE is forgetting that they are portraying a contact (...stops just short of calling it a sport) event. People will get hurt, and that is unfortunate. But this is a career for these people. Things do happen every now and then that might not be very favorable. WWE is also failing to notice that if you were to lay out a listing of fan-favorite moves, 50% would likely be character finishers (some of which are top rope maneuvers *cough*London*cough*), 50% top rope stylings... I've personally tried jumping off of things to see what I can do, it's not easy manuevering your body once in the air, it's more of a momentum thing from the initial push-off. Thus, I have a LOT of respect for guys like RVD, London, and Jeff Hardy for the crazy and risky shit they pull off. Oh yeah, and Brock Lesnar, on a side note, for landing on his head/neck trying to land a moonsault. |
it was a shooting star press and really not that humorous
|
Why the fuck does WWE continue to do this shit to the fans. Soon any move that has a little 'risk' will be banned. Part of being a wrestler is being a risk taker, this sucks. I'm sticking to TNA where high flying moves are far from banned and CZW where NOTHING is banned.
|
Jesus Christ, my computers fucking me around right now. Forgive me for maybe being a little fucking sensitive, but this is pretty fucking bullshitty.
Drakul made the point, it kinda defeats the idea of a cruiserweight, which I thought was based around them smaller and faster and acrobatic and shit. Honestly a deaf wrestler and now this. "Welcome to the WWE, one step forward, ten miles back" I know the counter-arguement here is "Why do you still watch then?" Well let me point out I'm a hypocrite, and I'm not gonna stop watching, I'm just gonna remained pissed at the constant and astonishing lack of sense the WWE pulls out of it's arse. |
It's bad enough that the WWE kiled the CW division. Seriously what the shit? The CW division was amazing in WCW. 99% of Rey's great matches were in WCW. People want to see Super Crazy.. well go all super crazy on us. He's one of the best flippy wrestlers I've ever seen. No one's going to give a crap about Psicosis if he can't utilizise his speed.
DANG! |
If the cruiserweights are told to slow down...they need to tell the Big Slow to speed the f*ck up.
|
Well...both the SSP and the 450 are rather nice...but uncontrolable moves. It's all that blind flipping in the air...or some such. Moves such as the frog splash are done with full view of the wrestler they'll be landing on...and therefor a whole lot safer. So I can't really fault the WWE for this. Oh wait. I can. Dang WWE.
|
At least there's TNA's X Division to look forward to.
|
The 450 is banned, but they said nothing about the 630!
|
It'd be hilarious if London, as a big fuck-you, made up a 420 Splash and said, "Okay, Vince, I found a new move. I took off a couple of degrees. Happy now?" :p
|
He'd land on his chin.

I'd also like to announce that with this announcement, I've officially given up hope of ever watching a good Cruiserweight match on WWE programming again. That's one less reason to watch SmackDOWN now... that leaves
- Eddie Guerrero - Undertaker (yes I'm a mark) - JBL ( I never thought I'd list him as a high mark) And um.... I'd say Mexicools, but without good matches, half the thrill is gone. :'( |
Didn't Juvi botch that SSP and nail London in the head?
But meh...I don't think this will last, either...WWE told them this before...and I didn't see that much of a difference. |
...there's a cruiserweight division in WWE? -wtf

*shakes fist* Ju-VEN-TUUUUUUDDDDD!!!!! |
It would be much wiser for the WWE to just ban the cruiserweights who have a history of fucking up their high flying moves such as Kidman & Juvi. I mean Kidman is either hit or miss and I cannot recall seeing a 450 splash that looked smooth from Juvi.
If a guy has a clean slate, like Paul London does with both SSP and 450 then let him continue using high flying moves. Just tell him if he starts hurting wrestlers with it then it will not be allowed to continue. |
Bullshit, man, bullshit.
Why stop these guys from doing what they WANT to do? Take the cap off these guys, and tell them "I'm trusting you to put on a good show. You have 20-minutes, you can do whatever. Can you image 20 full minutes of Paul London vs. Nunzio? I marke dout last week for the London Calling, and I was really hopnig to see it again with Billy Kidman now being gone. Cutting down on the big finishers is fine, IMO, but that's the only thing that these guys are allowed to do. Seriously, are they supposed to have a four minute match with clotheslines and arm drags? The WWE has enough talented wrestling cruiserweights to be able to do some ground-based stuff (Paul London, Nunzio, Jamie Noble, Spanky, Funaki, Scotty 2 Hotty) but they don't get a chance to go. If the WWE is going to tighten the restriction on these guys, they need to give them more time to show us they can wrestle and not just flip. The WWE has apparently made it an "unofficial" rule, so I take it we'll see the Shooting Star Press and 450 Splash from London yet, but if we start seeing Paul London win matches with the dropsault, it's not worth keeping the division. |

They're so men don't look funny in bathing suits.

I think Hogan got into Vince's ear and told him that everyone else should have less moves than him, because that cause people to not care about his 1987 act.

Paul Londons new finishing Move the ELBOW DROP OF DOOM
|
Quote:
"Sir, people are enjoying the cruiserweights and bored by the main event." "Why?" "It seems that the moves performed by Cruiserweights greatly outshines the three moves our heavyweights have." "There's only one logical solution." "Promote people with athleticism and charisma?" "No, bring back Nash and Hogan, and fire the Cruisers." |
Hogan: Hey Vince. brother. I have a probably with all of these little dudes flying around the ring. I'm here for One Last Match and all I see are these little jabroni's flying around the ring trying to steal my one last pop, brother.
Vince: I'm sorry Hulk, I'll take care of it right away. |
Hogan: ...and they should all come out to the ring with walkers to put emphasis on the fact they can't go to the top rope or run around the ring anymore. And repackage London with a Yokozuna-style gimick. If he doesn't put on the weight, he's part of the problem. Fire him, brother.

COMPETITION NOW.
That's all I can say about this. If this has even a smidgen of truth, it's bitchmade. |
