Screwed and Chopped
 
What the fuck is the big sensation over this shit?! Oooh, some DJ can slow down a song like 30-40 bpm and scratch so they can say "Sti-sti-still tri-tri-trippin' on 44's". Well good for him; I can do that on my $40-50 ACID program, it would take me like 20 minutes to screw and chop a whole song (at most), and I don't even know how to DJ.

The only thing screwed and chopped does to a song, in my opinion, is make it sound like shit.

Your thoughts?

I don't understand it either. Seems pretty pointless. I think it's officially called "Chopped and Screwed", though.

Actual Screw shit was badass back in the day.. I still jam UGK Screwed by DJ Screw.. Now it's Swisha House guys getting paid off of a dead DJ's legacy..

Albums down here have been released in two versions for awhile.. Way before Paul Wall.. They remix (Screw) whole albums and release them after the original..

Is this the thing where people drink like cough syrup and it makes everything go slo-mo? DJ Screw was his name? I thought he had just died recently. Either him or one of the other "pioneers" of this so-called genre.

Yeah, it was DJ Screw who died...ODed on the codeine in the cough syrup apparently.

Yeah, pretty much. Slow it down 30-40 bpms or so and then scratch over it.
