Why is Angle wearing a mouthguard?
 

Like on RAW last week. It's red white and blue but from far away he looks like a chipmunk

I don't know, but it could be becasue like every match he is in his mouth always ends up bleeding. So he is trying to prevent that.

Purley speculation on my part though.

Who cares? I think it adds to the whole 'totally psycho' effect.

He could of had some dental work or something.

But yeah, I'd venture a guess that he wants to prevent dental injury as has nearly happened frequently lately.

Every time i saw him in that match on Raw. I thought of Jim Carey in the Cable guy during the basketball scene.:lol:

Probably just playing up his olympian character.

seriously tho, it worries me how few wrestlers wear mouthguards...its so easy just to cop an elbow in the mouth

So, a few thoughts come to mind...

1. Which tooth was it? When he doesn't wear it on screen, I never notice a gaping hole in his mouth like Benoit.

2. Why do I see this coming into something like they did with Mick Foley? Where he had his false teeth in during his corporate days, Austin took them out, stomped on them, and threw them into the crowd...

Cena knocked loose a few teeth in Angle's mouth, hence the mouthguard. The reason you guys don't see a gap in his teeth when he cuts a promo is because the teeth were on the side of his mouth and they have been replaced, the mouthguard protects the fake teeth as they settle.

OKay, now that the question has been answered 50 times in 50 different ways, can we settle on an official answer? :p

His teeth looked whiter on Monday. Not saying that's why he's wearing a mouthguard. Just pointing that out.
