Anyone remember Filmation's Ghostbusters/ 80's/Early 90's cartoons, shows

It came on in like 1986 and was pretty short lived. It featured a talking ape named Tracey  Like I know one person that's heard of this show. I loved it when I was a kid.

I used to mark out for that scene where they would transform into Ghostbusters and shit. It was eathier the show's opening or it was like during the middle of the show. I can't remember.

Yeah, I remember it. It was pretty shit. They shot bubblegum or some shit at the ghosts.

Loose Cannon 10-18-2005 11:57 PM

wait, now that I think about it, I don't think the ape talked. He just made ape noises.

:D wow, someone knows what the hell I'm talking about finally.

Funky Fly 10-19-2005 12:02 AM

It's why the actual Ghostbusters movie spinoff cartoon was called "The Real Ghostbusters".

Boondock Saint 10-19-2005 12:20 AM

ROFL YES. Someone else remembers  Whenever I mention this to people they have no clue what I'm talking about. They're like "An ape helping the Ghostbusters?"

Loose Cannon 10-19-2005 12:32 AM

see, this is why I love TPWW.net.

Disturbed316 10-19-2005 08:03 AM

That is some whacky theme tune.

Yup. After a legal battle over trademark, they just popped on "Real" to change it.

The show wasn't that short lived, considering most cartoons of the day DIDN'T really run for more than a couple of seasons. The ape talked, but not often, and nothing more than Scooby Doo-esque lines. The car, however, did.

wwe2222 10-19-2005 10:01 AM

yeah, i remember this cartoon. I havent seen it since i was a kid, but it was pretty cool at the time I thought. I had alll the action figures and the cars. I wonder what happened to them.

Boondock Saint 10-19-2005 11:17 AM

Needs a DVD release.

As does the other cartoon.

Kane Knight 10-19-2005 12:06 PM

The REAL Ghostbusters would be cool to have on TV.

It's funny. I remember episodes of each where they took shots at each other.

Kane Knight 10-19-2005 12:07 PM

DVD, not TV.

Loose Cannon 10-19-2005 12:11 PM

my favorite episode of that version of Ghostbusters was the one where they went into this parallel universe and there were evil versions of the Ghostbusters. And the episode consisted of the evil ones capturing the Real ones using some green slime. I think Peter was the only one who didn't get caught and he saved the day or something.
