Requirements For WWE Writers
 

WWE currently has a job opening for a new writer and also for an 'on air talent'.

Here is what they list as their requirements for the writer:

- BA/BS in Film, TV, Drama, Media Studies, Communications or equivalent
- Minimum of two years writing and/or TV production experience; professional TV staff experience in drama and comedy, a plus
- Willing to relocate to Stamford, CT
- Knowledge of WWE talent and story lines is required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Flexible travel schedule (extensive travel required)

Here are their requirements for the 'on air talent':

- 1 to 3 years play-by-play sports announcing a must
- Strong announcing, writing and television production skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- College degree in Journalism, Communications and/or related field
- Strong team player
- Extensive travel required

Not sure how much of a discussion this will make, but I figured it was interesting nonetheless.

I thought in order to be a WWE writer you just had to have short-term memory loss and forget stuff that happened three months ago. I stand corrected.

1. Old. These "requirements" have been up forever.

Wait, they're looking for people with knowledge of the product now? EXCELLENT! Now that's a step in the right direction.

And by product you mean someone who lives in a pineapple under the sea right?

Expect Snitsky & Tomko to be renamed Mr Krabs and Squidwood shortly after the position is filled.

Geez. When my brother gets 2 years of TV/Film experience, he's eligible to apply for a WWE job.

I technically have all the requirements to be a writer other then the two years experience... :shifty: Maybe in two years WWE will stop sucking ass :p

Add "NOTE: Fellatio and/or anal penetration (donated to Vincent K. McMahon) may deem all other requirements void."

You have no idea how tempted I am to get myself a degree in one of those fields...They've got some good internship programs around here, I could get the two years experience while working on a degree.

So I take it they got rid of the old requirement that basically said you had to not be a fan of wrestling to get hired?

It's still there, this is just what they put on the corporate site to attract resumés they can laught at.

Im not noticing the "Must have a long history of smoking large amounts of crack/freebase, as you will be doing that before any ideas are put on the table in a creative meeting" part, could have swore i saw it there before
