I think that the WWE isn't as dumb as we all think
They know what it takes to be good. They know what it takes to bring ratings and make competion crumble
Just look at 2000. It was hott back then becauser they had WCW by the balls But since there's no copmpetion, they don't even care and just DF it because they can. But I'm sure when a real threat comes, they can easily take it up a notch Quote:

Easily, its not like they don't have the talent.
|
You're probably right. But it sucks hearing someone else saying it.
They know they don't have to try that hard to keep us watching because there's no alternative. When WCW was around, even though I hated it, some people actually liked it and they spent so much to bring in the WWE rejects that they also took the fans of the wrestlers. This pushed WWE into the "golden era" and coincidently, it started going wrong around the invasion period. In some respects, I wish that WCW was still competing with WWE only so that we would get a decent product |
I hope The Rock goes to TNA
|
Then why was their programming down in the shitter before TNA?
|
Because there was no threat, clearly. If you have a monopoly there isn't any reason to have an innovative product.
|
Surely there is a reason to keep your ratings up.
|
Not when you're senile.
|
To increase the ratings, they have to work harder. Why would they need to if we have nothing else to watch?
There is no threat, even through the crap we still watch it, doesn't this say something? |
Yeah, but we're not the ones who make them money.

That'll happen once I get in bed with Jessica Alba! |
you will get layed pretty soon by her
|
If he does, I give TNA a year or so to make their product legit enough for Rock to actually consider going there
Hell, Christian is there and Christian is THE ROCK'S FAVORITE WRESTLER!!!! :shifty: |

I agree with all the above

Their ratings were "up enough" to cost them both Thursday nights and Spike TV. |
cost them spike Tv? What happend there I missed?
|
Oh, that's right. They never left spike. It was all a dream.
|
I was under the impression they wanted to leave.
|
Which is why they tried negotiating and lost?
Damn, I must have missed out on the definition of wanting to leave. Generally, you're not the one who tries to negotiate (Especially when you bring in bargaining chips such as another network). |
At best, it was a case of sour grapes.
"we didn't want to be on your dumb old station anyway." |

Which is why I was correcting you with an illustrated point.
|
Ahhh
|
It's basically trying to rhetorically prove a logical incongruity by demonstrting what happened vs the logic itself.
Or as I call it, being a dick. :shifty: |
The Rock, Austin, Goldberg and Hogan leaving really hurt the company, because they spent so much time building them up that when they were gone, there was no one to replace them. Coincidentle that Brock got rocked to the top after Austin left.
|
Thats crap because Vince has always said since he moved his company into "Sports entertainment" that he is not competing agasnt other wrestling companies he is competing agasnt other forms of entertainment (tv shows)
|
Back when there was a decent alternative i used to really enjoy seeing guys who were on one show jump to the other, christ remember when Y2J first hit? That was huge!
Right now there is no wow factor, say AJ jumped, half the crowd wouldn't know who he is, but it's starting to work the other way, say like with Christian, so hopefully, in a few years it will be an even balance |
