No-selling finishers
 

I was watching WM's 8 and 12 recently and I noticed that Sid didn't lay down for the leg drop and Warrior just simply no-sold HHH's Pedigree. I got me to thinking. What no-sell would you mark out for if it actually happened? Personally, I'd like to see Booker T. take a Pedigree and immediately pull off a spinerooni afterward. HHH's expression would be priceless. Goldust is really good at no-selling the ankle lock. If you see his 2005 Against All Odds match against Raven, you'd know what I'm talking about. I'd love to see Goldust no-sell the ankle lock.

I'd just like to see someone in a Masterlock slip down and out of it like you're supposed to do in a full nelson, then apply a shoot-submission move and make Masters tap out in a moment of panic.

I'd mark out if Cena was doing the STFU, then the guy breaks it and says "you're doing it wrong", then puts him in the STF and makes him tap.

How about someone totally no-selling the tombstone by yelling (on camera) "YOU DIDN'T EVEN HIT MY HEAD AGAINST THE MAT!!!" or something like that?

In fact, it'd be even more hilarious if it was a midget who just sat up (UT style) after a tombstone or chokeslam or powerbomb.

I'd love to see Funaki no sell any hoss' finisher. That would make me laugh really hard.

I would love to see someone fall on the ground before Rey could even be hitting the 6:19 that would be a lol moment, i think. :-\

But someone no selling the spear would be cool 2, just don't fall when Edge hits it, would be great to see someone look around all surprised and say: Dude, you didn't actually hit me.

Oh and someone no selling the FU would be awesome 2, i can see it now!

Cena hits it and gets all excited, the guy just stands right up after he just hit it.

I'd love to haha see like Cena take Edge's spear and then immediatly get up and then say "oh shit thats your finisher!" and fall back down and sell it hahaha

I want to see someone take the FU, lie there for a second, start doing push ups, Scott Steiner style, then spinaroonie into a standing position.

I'd love to see The Undertaker or Kane give Carlito a Tombstone and have Carlito no-sell it, starting a storyline about how any blow to the head is useless because of his hair.

That storyline = ratings.

I'd like to see someone completely no sell the 619. They take the hit and instead of flipping on thieir back like Flipper they just back up and stand there like WTF.

Or if Rey went for hte West Coast Pop instead of nailing it he tries to flip them and they would no sell

I'd love to see somebody simply walk out of the cage door during a cage match. Even right after the bell rings to start the match, the combatants circle, and one just leaves. Even better, this scenario is for the World Title. Go ahead, fire your champ Vince.

There is really no point to no selling a finisher unless it's something like big show no-selling funaki. I tkills the momentum of the match, and frankly, doesn't make any sense.

Warrior and sid no-sold because they were terrible. That's it.

Comedic Value makes almost anything justifiable

come on, you know you'd love to see Coach get chokeslamed by Big Show, Kane, Undertaker, then stunned by austin, then FU'd by Cena, angle slamed, F5'd, Rock Bottom'd by angle/brock/rock, then just stand up and brush his shirt

Yeah, we might find it a little funny, but it will just confuse the marks.

I'd be too busy freaking out about The Rock coming back to worry about Coach getting 73 finishers done to him.

That would be the day Kay-fabe was murdered; and would truly suck something special.

HHH hitting someone with a jackhammer and no-selling it by just standing there and looking stupid, after realizing he should drop to the ground, doing it all spastic after like 2 minutes.

Goldberg does his spear and jackhammer but while he's pinning, the guy starts bench-pressing him.

Someone should no-sell Sweet Chin Music. After they're hit, they just stand there and say "I knew it was coming so I prepared myself".

I would love to see some one move away when Randy is delivering the Rko and bam! he hits the mat and suffers a concusion taking him out from the main event of Wrestle Mania 22. Just like the title match between Randy and HHH last year at the royal rumble

Speaking of Petey Williams and no selling the Canadian Destroyer:

I was at an Indy show over a year ago with Petey Williams in the main event in a six man tag match that featured Raven, Synn, and a couple of other guys I forget. Anyway, after the match was over Petey Williams gave a crap load of Canadian Destroyers to refs, Synn(he got a few) and the other guys in the match. Then he called for someone in the audience to come in and take the move. I tried, but he picked someone other guy who was in his late teens to early 20s(The guy was not planned because Petey and some other guys were telling him what to do). Anyway, Petey hits it, the small ass crowd went nuts... and the kid got back up in like a minute. If that was me, I would have sold it for a looooong time

He has alot of post moves to that now that you mention it.

Holly should try the same thing on Lashley

I'd love to see anyone no-sell the Sweet Chin music combo. It'd be best with Eddie, or someone known for breaking the rules (But particularly because Eddie used to already wink and nod to the crowd on certain bits). Just have someone play dazed until Michaels started striking up the band, then go in for a shot to the balls.
