Hmmm, why don't they use the massive stadiums every year? Stupid WWE.

Doubt they'll fill it the way everything is heading

Team Sheep 03-28-2006 09:42 AM

Wow, that's pretty sweet. It's one impressive stadium :y:

JJ Moore 03-28-2006 10:27 AM

65'000 capacity..... no chance.

I call 3,000 people, and JR returning to sell the "capcity crowd."

What Would Kevin Do? 03-28-2006 11:11 AM

Fink: We have set a NEW RECORD!
*Fans cheer*
Fink: Thank you... 258,051 FANS!
Fans: ... :wtf: :|

Mike the Metal Ed 03-28-2006 11:13 AM

Shit, the other frontrunner was Montreal, I was gonna go. :(

Bo 03-28-2006 11:29 AM

They seem to going to the old Rotation WM 1 / 20 - MSG , WM2 (WAS at three places NY LA and Chicago) WM 21 LA and WM 22 Chicago , And WM 3 was in Detroit and so will be WM 23. So it look like 24 and 25 will be in the Trump Plaza.

TerranRich 03-28-2006 11:33 AM

Vince: YOU'RE FIRED!!!
Trump: Er, no, you're fired!

RGWhat316 03-28-2006 03:00 PM

I've never been to a WM, but when this becomes official, I will definitely be there. I live probably 35 miles or so from the place as it is. Better be saving now.

And it does kinda make sense that Detroit would get it. We have been getting almost everything in the last year, the MLB All-Star Game, Super Bowl XL, and others.

I don't think that takes into account the field for seating, so I'd say it would be closer to 70,000.

mrslackalack 03-28-2006 03:55 PM

Well they will have to have a huge match or event that would fill the seats. Hogan/Austin? The Rock returning?

Jesus vs HHH.

Russenmafia 03-28-2006 04:13 PM

This will be a sellout, even if its Masters vs Matt Hardy headlining.

 The funniest part was Hootie McBoob's voice.

Blitz 03-28-2006 05:55 PM

Unless I can get free tickets, doubt I'll go.

Plus, the Final Four next year, I think.

I'm going to have to give this one serious consideration. Detroit's about a two-hour drive for me. Very doable. I'd like to go, for sure.

Rob 03-28-2006 06:05 PM

The problem is that you don't even know what the card is before you buy tickets. I'd probably get a couple if I lived near but have the probability of selling them in mind.

Jordan 03-28-2006 06:25 PM

The only match I can see that is big enough for that stadium is Kurt Angle v.s Batista

Rob 03-28-2006 06:28 PM

You can't predict this business. They could get Brock Lesnar or The Rock back by then. They might manage to do Hogan vs. Austin. Or one of the current roster could just be massively over by then.

Then again, it's Mania so it's selling out regardless.

loopydate 03-28-2006 06:32 PM

Exactly. Even people who know nothing about wrestling know WrestleMania. The die-hards will buy tickets because they'll always buy tickets. The casuals will buy tickets because it's WrestleMania. And a couple hundred non-fans will buy tickets just to see what all the fuss is about.

It wouldn't surprise me if they managed to finally ink Austin/Hogan for WM23. Of course, I thought that was the plan this year before Austin decided to take his ball and go home.

Again.

Rob 03-28-2006 06:42 PM

Dude, if you were Austin, why the hell would you want to work with Hulk Hogan?

And he didn't "take his ball and go home" like you said.

1) Because I would get paid a toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon of money for doing so.

2) It was a metaphor, Rob.

1 - He made $13 million just in one year for the WWE. More than Hogan made over his entire first run. Why would he do anything for money?

2 - d'oh!

If I were Hogan, I'd retire and be happy with my money and family. He can't control his ego though and he clearly wants Austin a lot more than Austin wants him. Plus Hogan can't make money with anyone else now.

Frankly, if I were Hogan, I'd ave shot myself when I found out how much steroids had damaged my dick.

:shifty:

Danny Electric 03-28-2006 07:41 PM

That is silly if they can't fill that.
Old Trafford gets sold out every week for a game of football, if they can't fill that out for an annual event then it's gotta suck.

Kane Knight 03-28-2006 07:44 PM

Yeah, but in America, we have things to do other than lynch the dentists and fuck goats.

road doggy dogg 03-28-2006 07:49 PM

Ford Field is hot. I might go if my sister gets tickets. It will be nice to step foot in Ford Field and not witness the Lions losing, for a change.

No you don't.

Kane Knight 03-28-2006 07:58 PM

Sure we do. We have niggers to lynch and sheep to fuck.

Rob 03-28-2006 08:11 PM

We have sheep too.
