Recommend me some songs/and or bands to dl

Anything but rap, emo music (ie Hawthorne Heights), country, or RnB

Blitz 04-13-2006 02:45 PM

Mrnorth. I can send you some if you like, since you probably won't be able to find any to download, but they're damn good. U2-Style rock.

Dredg-Anything off of Catch Without Arms. Rock with some electronic touches.

Panic Division-Delta, Automatic Synthetic, Songs Of A Dead Poet. Kinda similar to Dredg, but darker sounding.

Neverending White Lights-I Hope Your Heart Runs Empty, From What I Once Was, The Grace. Mopey rock, perfect for a rainy day.

Yeah, so there's some.

Bah.

Their material from the album before that, El Cielo, is far better than anything on Catch Without Arms. Saying that, "Bug eyes" is pretty tasty.

Anyways, bands:

Rasputina - "Things that I'm gonna do," "Howard Hughes," "Wish you were here," "signs of the Zodiac," "how we quit the forest."

Nickel Creek - "Green and grey," "Jealous of the moon," "This Side," "tomorrow is a long time," "Helena."

Chevelle - "Point #1," "send the pain below," "Closure," "The Red."

Mr Bungle - "Squeeze me macaroni," "Carousel," "The Girls of Porn," "Ars Moriendi," "Goodbey sober day."

Failure - "Blank," "Dirty Blue Balloons," "Another space song," "Daylight."

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - "1997," "sleep is wrong."

Devotchka - "The enemy guns," "Such a lovely thing."

If you like Jazz, Jamie Cullum is awesome. 30 Seconds to Mars are real good if you like Alt. Rock. Same with Arctic Monkeys. Wolfmother is bloody good aswell.

Joesgonnakillyou 04-14-2006 10:09 PM

I don't wanna be an asshole, but jamie cullum is not jazz.

Try some Liars and Mogwai

With that, Prong's original version of Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck is the goods. Prong is pretty awesome.

The Kovenant is a good choice too. Acid Theatre, Jihad, Hollow Earth... All of it's great.

Powerman 5000 and Rammstein make good filler stuff. For the Man of Power, That's Entertainment!, That's Right, and Neckbone are good, while the 'stein has Dalai Lama, Benzin, or Sonne.

Evergreen Terrace's cover of Mad World isn't too shabby. Maybe check out stuff by Rhenium if you can (if not, go to their MySpace site and download from there).

In Flames' Free Fall is great, and The Salads' Hot Damn or Get Loose is fun. Almost any Tantric or Days of the New are worth getting into.

Also look into: Breaking Point, American Pearl, Soilwork, or music off The Blackest Album should make good tidings too.
