Smackdown! Roster (Spoilers)

Where the hell does Smackdown go from here? They've taken three major shots. No JBL, no Orton, no Angle. Benoit is injured. I know I'm stating the obvious - but this is ridiculous. They currently have no legit main eventers.

GoodByeJBL 06-08-2006 09:38 AM

go to wwe.com they have that nacho guy from the movie nacho libre thats a real spoiler

Ben Rodrigues 06-08-2006 09:39 AM

Jack Black? Okay. Thank you.

Corkscrewed 06-08-2006 03:56 PM

It's funny how Angle was drafted to SD to shore up their main event scene, and now he's ECW. Silly writers.

darkpower 06-08-2006 05:44 PM

With Angle, I think they did this just so they can do a Orton/Angle match as fast as possible. As far as I know, Angle is still on future SD show tour lists, so the ECW Angle might not last very long.

Volare 06-08-2006 07:21 PM

now they will push lashley to Lesnar status plain and simple...and yes, very plain!!

..........BWAHAHAHA!

And he gets pushed for one minute, until they announce the newest superstar on Smackdown...EDGE!

crash99 06-08-2006 08:37 PM

Plus, the release of Animal is a major blow to Smackdown...

The Show Off 06-08-2006 09:22 PM

The WWE seriously need to send at least two people from Raw over to Smackdown and I mean within the next two weeks, I say Carlito, Kane, or Chris Masters should go, if not all three.

Skippord 06-08-2006 10:05 PM

I like Carlito and Kane going over there with Carlito winning the belt from Rey Rey on his first night

The Icon of Elisim 06-08-2006 10:57 PM

I think they can get by through the summer with the what they have now. I'm guessing that come September Smackdown will be canceled and they merge the brands

Just from watching Smackdown tonight they have some marketable fueds to work with:
Rey vs Chavo and then Rey vs Batista at Summerslam
Batista vs Henry
Undertaker vs Khali
Lashley vs Booker T/Regal/Finlay (I just watched Smackdown and they are giving this alot of attention)
Add to that Kennedy will have a fued with someone and we're gonna get some decent matches from London/Kendrick vs Mexicools

One thing though, on Smackdown Heyman was talking about how he has more guys that he's extended offers to. Granted this could be guys like Nunzio, Super Crazy and Stevie Richards or newer guys from OVW like Gunner Scott. But if its anybody else then Smackdown is in trouble.

6to1 06-08-2006 11:05 PM

i am suprised kid kash was not with him he is more ecw then smackdown.

Dorkchop 06-08-2006 11:55 PM

Rey is their top guy, but has lost practically every match he's been in since winning the belt. He doesn't look at all credible.

I'd have no problem having Smackdown be offically a B show with mid-carders and cruisers if they were actually being used to not job. When they're not being beld back, they're pretty much all awesome in the ring (Burchill, Hardy).

Londoner 06-09-2006 12:08 AM

They might aswell just cancel Smackdown, no one gives a shit about it anymore. What's the point in making one of your shows a B-show anyway? I just don't understand this logic. It's still part of the fucking company.

I'm still a huge wrestling fanatic, but even I can't sit through all two hours of Smackdown. I can keep it on for the two hours, but I can't sit and watch it from start to finish. I'll usually go on my computer during it.

Londoner 06-09-2006 12:27 AM

Same here Dorkchop, don't get me wrong, I've liked Smackdown more than Raw, but WWE have practically forced me to stop watching their own show. It's just this backwards logic that annoys me so much. I should be used to it by now, but they've really buried Smackdown. And whats worse is, were probably going to have to watch MARK FUCKING HENRY become champ! That will be the end of my Smackdown watching days until they do something that makes me actually want to watch the show. I'm not just going to keep watching for the sake of it that's for sure.

Also WWE should realise that their intensive touring schedule is what's causing the injuries, many people do not realise this, but that's the real problem here. Oh and having MARK FUCKING HENRY on the roster doens't help with the injury problem either.

The Naitch 06-09-2006 01:39 AM

just have ECW kill off Smackdown and take over the show. CM Punk is going to SD! anyways, so Inno will have his weekly fix

The Naitch 06-09-2006 01:40 AM

oh right, they are going to the Discovery Channel or whatever. Too bad I don't know what channel that is on :(

The Naitch 06-09-2006 01:40 AM

ps- I dont watch TV as much as I used to, but will catch RAW when I stumble home drunk

Volare 06-09-2006 08:16 AM

Drunkiness 3:16

Thou will not watch Smackdown! while thou is sober!!

RVDmark 06-09-2006 08:38 AM

Its a shame about Smackdown, it is. But people on here have been saying for ages that the brand split should end. Now it is possibly/probably going to so yay. Smackdown just becomes WWE show 2 which means more time for build ups for storylines, continuity and the fact that I might watch both shows if someone I like can show up. Its a good thing really.

Now I give it a month after the brand split ends, and we'll all be bitching about how people aren't getting TV time because we'll have 2 shows a week full of spirit squad and HHH/McMahon. (me incuded)

Oh aren't we wrestling fans fickle. :)

LOL. Are you retarded?

Masters still can't get a reaction to save his life AND isn't currently on the active roster (Surprise, he violated the drug policy).

CYCLOPTERSAURUS 06-10-2006 06:01 AM

If they do keep smackdown, I really think they ought to get HBK, and probably Carlito and Kane too - but with ECW coming, I don't think they are gonna keep a 3-way split, and merge Raw and Smackdown eventually.

kingofkings 06-10-2006 07:22 AM

one thing that is hurting smackdown right now is the undertaker only participating in dark matches. what is khali and mark henry too big to be beaten on national tv. they need to bring back undertaker. oh yeah about all you that say smackdown needs some raw superstars, batista is back in less than 30 days, he will get the title back. as far as carlito taking the championship from rey, if they do that it will be a disgrace, if anything kane should get the belt if anyone. I still think that sabu will take it from mysterio though, and cena will win tomorrow night because edge gets to face him at vengeance. they dont have a title match set for rey yet accept with sabu.
but one othe biggest travesties on smackdown is that they let rey retain his title at paperviews but in between they make him lose every frickin match, u dont see cena, or anyother champion losing that much in nontitle matches.

Mr. Nerfect 06-11-2006 09:33 AM

I came up with a scenario the other day which basically got Carlito off RAW and onto SmackDown!.

Shelton Benjamin is scheduled to defend the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Carlito, but as Benjamin is walking down the ramp, Umaga attacks Carlito from behind. Benjamin then gets on the mic, thanks Armando for donating Umaga's services to him, and then hands some cash over to Estrada and says something like "It's all about the Benjamins". Then he pins Carlito, in an easy defence.

The next week, Shelton Benjamin is in Jonathan Coachman's office, claiming he should be given a WWE Title shot, or something. Carlito attacks Benjamin from behind, cursing in his native tongue. Coachman then says he is drafting Carlito to SmackDown!, for the Intercontinental Champion's safety.

Carlito's first opponent on SmackDown! is none other than...Mark Henry. Carlito enters looking his usual confident self, whilst Mark Henry enters and dominates. Out of nowhere, Batista's music hits, the fans go nuts, Henry turns his attention to the titantron, Carlito sneaks up and hits a Lungblower on Henry. 1-2-3. Carlito then grabs a mic and tells Henry that Batista isn't here tonight, but he's coming back in 14 days. And that's...that's cool.

So yeah, apart from that, I think SmackDown! is fine.

Skippord 06-11-2006 09:59 AM

That'd rule but I'm pretty sure the lungblower on Henry would break Carlito's knees

At least it'd be consistant.

Just his knees? He'd have a shattered ribcage with his legs embedded into his gut.

Me? vs Mark Henry? Das not...Going to happen.

srnrew 06-11-2006 12:56 PM

Here's an idea, how bout they just go back to the way things use to be and have everybody wrestle on both shows? Get rid of the World Heavyweight, U.S., and WWE tag titles. Keep the WWE, Intercontinental, World tag team, Cruiserweight, and Women's title. Vince should look over his entire roster and decide who to keep and who to let go, since WWE has proved in the past they dont have a problem letting anybody go. I mean hell WWE did survive on only 3 titles for many years (80's, Early to mid-90's) and they did ok with it. Eventually soon guys, like Kane, Taker, etc. will soon be gone.

HoganNosDeezNutz 06-12-2006 04:59 AM

Well Smackdown's contract ends soon, so they'll prolly do away with it and WWE will have only Raw, Smackdown is in deep shit, maybe Lashley can get a push to the top after he drops the U.S. title

No, Smackdown's contract was extended for an additional 2 years.
