I don't know, if Show won the ECW and then got his hands on the World sometime later, he might also tie what I believe Angle will do, what you just mentioned. And yet, even if Angle does that, he will have only been employed by Vince McMahon...kind of shows you Vince McMahon's power of the industry's legacy.

Yeah, that factor always bugged me. You got people like the Dudleys claiming to hold belts in the then "Big 3" when they never worked in WCW. And Kurt Angle WCW World Champion but never worked in WCW either. It just seems like... bullshit?

If I recall correctly, the WCW title came to WWE on Booker T, who lost to the Rock, who lost to Jericho, who lost to the Rock, who lost to Jericho, who lost to Triple H, then the titles were unified.

Do you just mean since he held the current WWE belt, he's a WCW champion since it carries the WCW title history, or did Angle actually win the seperate WCW title some time?

Yeah he only held it for a week. I can't remember though, did he win it on Smackdown, then lose it on the next Raw, or vice versa? Or did he hold it from a Raw 'till the next Raw?

Honestly, as long as WWE owned the WCW I believe it counts, IMO. You're working for the company that owns WCW and if they wanted could be WCW. Seems logical.

Does this ECW title count as the real ECW title though? it seems to me that it'd just have the history of the WWE title, since the last (and presumably still) ECW champ was Rhyno.

At least the WWF WCW title still had the WCW history.
