If TNA gets big.....

If TNA were to become proper competition for WWE would you want to see TNA suceed to give Vince a slap in the face? Would you like to see WWE bury yet another promotion? or would you like the Monday Night Wars to happen all over again so that Vince picks up the ball and stops phoning in shows?

Personally Id like option C as Ive seen what happens when there is only WWE around and TNA in the same position sounds even worse.

Discuss :)

TNA will not be the company to compete with WWE without a buyout from a bigger company, making it another company anyway.

I wish those Ted Turner rumors from a couple of years ago would come true.

Xero 07-03-2006 07:36 PM

What's happened to him now that he's out of AOL/TImeWarner anyway?

Londoner 07-03-2006 07:38 PM

No point in discussing really, TNA will never get big.

Kane Knight 07-03-2006 07:43 PM

Yeah, TNA isn't proper competition. They can't be--They aren't serious enough about it. They need to stop dicking around.

There was a No Compete contract that prevented him from getting involved in another such venture until sometimes in 2006. I don't know if the date is passed yet.

But let's entertain the thought.

The most fun I had with wrestling was during the WWF/WCW/ECW days. I like options. I don't like half-assed remakes of decent promotions, lack of options due to buyouts, and piss-poor ECW Fan wannabes chanting TNA after a hiptoss.

I wish Bischoff's group had been able to come up with the money in 2001 to buy WCW. Imagine how different the wrestling world would be now.

Skippord 07-03-2006 08:36 PM

Didnt they have the money but they couldnt get any TV time

loopydate 07-03-2006 08:37 PM

Was that it? I couldn't remember the details.

Either way...

I heard that only affected his company, not himself.

Either way, he's out of the company and it's at least almost up.

Yeah its in the Death Of WCW after the AOL/Time Warner merger Jamie Kellner cancelled all wrestling programming.Bischoff couldnt find some other station willing to carry it.

Xero 07-03-2006 08:50 PM

Yeah, Bischoff couldn't get the backing without a guaranteed TV spot.

Y2Jeremy 07-06-2006 10:12 AM

I wish he could have. I wish Vince had never bought WCW. Wrestling has been hell ever since. If WCW were still around, TNA would not exist, and hopefully guys like Style and Daniels would be there. To answer the question, TNA will never be competition unless they get a serious backer and can steal guys like Angle and Booker T.

Well, the buyout would have been staved off until WCW bankrupted 2 years later and Vince bought them anyway. But hey, maybe we would have seen Sting in WWE...:shifty:

Well they got Christian. That's a start.

korinkahn 07-07-2006 06:38 AM

I watched TNA twice and was shocked to see a black and gray James E. Shocked again to see Christy Hemmy, then Christian, Double J etc.- After an hour of that I just don't care, What is Team Canada? and why doesn't the WWE get Sting back he looked primed.

And the only way Christian gets Main Event time is if he's up against two hasbeens and a never was.

In gaining or regaining the title, Christian marks himself as exactly what Vince considered him...A Lifetime midcarder.

To get Sting back, they would first have to get Sting. Since he's not interested...
