What does Jim Cornette do?

Really, what is his purpose? I know he used to be a manager for some tag team or whatever. But what is his deal now outside of being like the on-air management of TNA. If that makes sense.

BigDaddyCool 10-04-2006 04:28 PM

As long as I'm on the subject, what about Larry Zabisko. I mean these guys are on air personalities, I know. But do they really serve useful rolls back stage? And does anyone really like them?

Mr. JL 10-04-2006 05:04 PM

The question I have is, why do you need to pay two guys to do the same job?

Yeah, that is what I was kinda thinking too. That and I've never been quiet sure what either do. Their roles in TNA don't seem that defined. Again that is something WWE does way better. You have had a clear boss, such as Teddy Long, Bischoff, Vince or whatever. You have had clear sucks ups such as Chief Morley and the Coach.
But then in TNA you have Cornette who is suppose to be the visible rep for management which suggests he is a mouth piece for a group of people behind the scenes. But the way he carries himself on screen makes it seem like he is the one calling all the shoots. Also you have Zabisko who is on the title committee or championship committee. Storyline-wise, is it a smart move to have a committee of people who decide who the next champion is going to be, or do they simply determine who the #1 contender is going to be?

Then again TNA is just poorly booked.

You are the first person in the history of Earth to call The Midnight Express "some tag team or whatever."

Sorry never saw them in action. Plus tag teams are pretty gay.

yea pretty gay they are only one of the top 3 tag teams in history

FourFifty 10-04-2006 05:51 PM

I wasn't able to see The Midnight Express in their prime, but a little bit of homework never hurt anyone. Go on and try to scope them out if you can. Find an old VHS, dust off your VCR, and have at it. Or look for matches on youtube or with P2P programs.

My argument isn't that they are gay. I'm saying that tag team wrestling is gay and dumb.

What Would Kevin Do? 10-04-2006 06:28 PM

As far as I kno, Cornette is JUST an on air personality for TNA.

Gertner 10-05-2006 12:34 AM

lol i love when Tenay says "the chamionship committee is watchign this match closely" and it's liek a Sharkboy vs Lance Hoyt match

lol

Pepsi Man 10-05-2006 12:52 AM

On the "Championship Committee" subject, the "Championship Committee" was often referred to in WCW, and on air refers to a group of agents and officials that decide who gets shots at what titles.

Someone should tell those mother fuckers to give Raven his fucking return match for his NWA World title.

Well, if you're an American and you really think about it... We have the Senate, Local Governments, Congress, the Vice President, American Embassies, and the entire staff of the White House to do the job of what is just supposed to be... One Man.

Does it make sense? No. Does it work? Not really... Is it going to change? No. TNA needs two people to be the face of TNA because Dixie Carter really is that fugly.

I'd love to be there if you ever said that to Animal from L.O.D., the n.W.o., The Dudley Boyz (or "Team 3-D", the half-assed name they got when they went to TNA), or especially if it was D-X you were talking to...:lol::D:yes:

Y2Jeremy 10-05-2006 06:22 PM

DX would only call him a mark and laugh, Animal would likely get pissed but not do anything as to not soil his family name or sons future, and 3D would probably bitch and try to beat him with a table or some shit. Cornette is supposed to be the head of TNA management, but larry hairpiece is apart of the championship committee. Really, the two are the same group, but for storyline, it is competing forces. TNA's logic is really shitty.

BigDaddyCool 10-06-2006 04:18 PM

Hey, it isn't my fault that ever tag team match is exactly the same.

Avenger 10-09-2006 01:40 PM

true

owenbrown 10-09-2006 03:23 PM

Is he still up at ROH too dealing with CZW and their "mom's basement" fanbase? :shifty:

What Would Kevin Do? 10-09-2006 03:37 PM

He's still the ROH comish, but the CZW feud is done. He's feuding with Homicide now.

AdrianM 10-10-2006 07:49 AM

BDC has a point (about tag matches)

Most of the ones on WWE tv are granted, visit japan though and the flow of the match is totally different with a more back and fourth feel rather than a face waiting for the hot tag

And of course in Mexico it's a totally different ball game.

Oh and ROH tag matches are great! Got to love the scrambles
