Ok so Torrents, anyone give me some do's/don'ts good sites etc?

Yeah I'd rather go on people's recommendations than just dive into some dodgy site, so feel free to fire away:p

Blitz 10-05-2006 02:49 PM

demonoid.com
torrentz.com

What is the program you need to download?

DS 10-05-2006 03:06 PM

There are a lot of torrent programs but I find uTorrent to be the best. It's also the smallest.

www.bittornado.com

www.torrentspy.com

Rep for all

Blitz 10-05-2006 06:21 PM

I usr bitlord. Works very well.

Requiem 10-05-2006 06:25 PM

I also use uTorrent, and would never use anything else now.

KleptoKlown 10-05-2006 09:47 PM

I use Bitcomet for a torrent program. uTorrent is good too.

as far as sites. Mainly use torrentspy.com or thepiratebay.org

Bad Company 10-06-2006 12:48 AM

www.mininova.org
utorrent is the best client.

Always read the notes, and comments, It'll usually tell you if it's a fake.

Also, look at www.vcdquality.com and check the version you want to download, you will find out some good info there.

Demonoid is the best torrent site on the net, honestly nothing else even comes close.

I used to use BitComet, but now I use Azureus. BitComet is probably eaiser to use - go with that :y:

ct2k 10-06-2006 09:06 AM

Right I'm using BitComet and Demonoid at the mo:y:

Attempting to download sopranos series 6 at the mo, lets see!

Extreme Angle 10-06-2006 11:11 AM

can you help me?
i have azureus
the torrents downloaded...
now its saying its seeding... what does that mean?
and can somebody give me a link to a file type converter to put them onto a dvd?

El Fangel 10-06-2006 11:13 AM

when getting music I found that Ares is the easiest to use and navigate.

Im now using Limewire and plan to use uTorrent sometime soon.

DS 10-06-2006 02:02 PM

BitComet is outdated, Azureus uses Java and too overloaded, BitLord...lol

uTorrent has all the features you need and is tiny. By far the best option for a torrent program. Seeding means that you are uploading the files you have downloaded. Torrents "require" you to upload to get a better speed but it all depends on how much others are uploading.

It means you are sharing the download.

ok thanks...
so what do i need to do to put them onto a dvd now?
step by step please

Downunder 10-06-2006 10:41 PM

Do a torrent search for Canopus procoder 2 and download it.

when youve got it I'll run you through the steps to convert the avi files to VOB for burning to DVD

Downunder 10-06-2006 10:52 PM

I'll do up a step by step guide tonight and post it tomorrow.

D Mac 10-07-2006 12:57 AM

Downunder is a kind soul. :p

Funky Fly 10-07-2006 04:21 AM

Yeah, I could use that avi conversion knowledge.

I've been using utorrent all summer. Uses next to no memory and is just as fast as bit comet. Azureus damn near crashes my pc, so I couldn't d/l any other time than at night when no one else was using the comp.

Dave Youell 10-12-2006 06:48 AM

I've been using bitlord, as it has it's own search facility, so you know you won't have any problems with the files when you start them.

DS 10-12-2006 11:26 AM

I believe the majority of torrent programs have search features. I can't think of a top one that doesn't.

Downunder 10-12-2006 05:32 PM

I am now using uTorrent - it is offically the best client on the net, I can't believe how much of a resource whore Azureus was :nono:
