Just did some research and two weeks before he went up to the WWE he had two try out matches as Ken Anderson. So you are right.

Actually, it'd appear I was wrong on the number of times. Most of the shit I can find online indicates they changed his named to Ken Kennedy before he left Velocity (after one match), though they also indicate he did several weeks of Velocity matches before his Smackdown debut.

A friend just said that Kennedy was Chuck Palumbo. :lol:
