Help Mitch find a downloadable torrent or whatever of A Scanner Darkly

Y'heard. This movie isn't being released where I am, and I have a hankering to see it. So yeah, all of you net-film-savvy kinda folks, hook me up. Pretty please. ^_^

Blitz 10-18-2006 11:01 PM

Do you have Demonoid, mitch?

Ogen 10-18-2006 11:14 PM

Ogen 10-18-2006 11:14 PM

I'm assuming you understand how to get a torrent and that though :$

Blitz 10-18-2006 11:18 PM

Way to find mitch an audiobook, Ogen.

Ogen 10-18-2006 11:38 PM

Ogen 10-18-2006 11:40 PM

First one there then

Ogen 10-18-2006 11:41 PM

If you don't have a torrent program download azureus, install it then hit download torrent on that site. Any problems I'll sort you out tomorrow

Funky Fly 10-19-2006 12:21 AM

Don't use azureus, use www.utorrent.com

utorrent uses practically none of your computer's resources (while still maintaining good d/l speeds), while Azureus is a beast that will slow your shit down, unless you have a pretty powerful pc.

And uTorrent has a really cool real time speed graph.

uTorrent is the best.

mitchables 10-19-2006 02:48 AM

uTorrent, eh? I have been using Azureus, but I will give this a shot.

Also, thankyou to all for the help. I recommend you download this movie for yourselves and watch it, as I have heard good things.

Silent 10-19-2006 03:26 AM

I saw it in theatres and it became one of my favorites.. it isn't being released on DVD or anything there?

What Would Kevin Do? 10-19-2006 03:27 AM

I used Azures until last week after funky (and a few others) kept going on about uTorrent, so I tried it - it's the shizzle.

Ogen 10-19-2006 09:30 AM

mitchables 10-19-2006 11:30 PM

Yeah they used rotoscoping to make it look animated and such. Pretty cool concept. Similar thing to this upcoming noir film/visual graphic novel that's being put out along the vein of Sin City. That looks awesome too.

Silent 10-21-2006 11:58 PM

Did you see the movie yet Mitch?

Downunder 10-22-2006 04:18 AM

There is an awesome quality screener on Demonoid, I've downloaded it but I haven't got round to watching it yet.

Ogen 10-30-2006 08:28 PM

I'll watch this soon

Downunder 10-30-2006 11:41 PM

i still haven't watched it :(

mitchables 10-31-2006 12:10 AM

Yeah ditto, I have got it in pretty good quality I guess, I just haven't had the time to watch it :(

Triple A 10-31-2006 12:12 AM

Wasn't that good. Mad disappointing.

Silent 10-31-2006 12:20 AM

Aw you didn't like it? I thought it was great. Hope you all can see it soon and judge for yourselves.

mitchables 11-22-2006 03:31 AM

I finally watched it, about a week ago - forgot all about this topic.

I really enjoyed it. Having read the novel, I thought they did a pretty good job staying faithful to the source material while making it a visually appealing story. Gonna try and find that better quality version that Nunder was talking about on Demonoid. My copy was clearly filmed in a theatre. :$

Blitz 11-22-2006 10:30 AM

Look for the aXXo release, mitch.

mitchables 11-22-2006 10:38 AM

aXXo, eh? :$

mitchables 11-22-2006 10:39 AM

Also, what is Demonoid?

Blitz 11-22-2006 10:58 AM

Best torrent site on the net. An invite waits in your PM box.

Ogen 11-22-2006 02:18 PM

I'll make is my new years resolution to watch this

Look for this on Demonoid : A Scanner Darkly 2006 StUnFoRg DVDScr KvCD Jamgood(TUS Release). Anything that is a TUS release is going to be good quality, I've downloaded dozens of movies from these guys and I've never been dissapointed. It is in VCD format, so you either need to burn it to CD (not DVD) using Alcohol 120% or, what I do is extract the .DAT file using iso Buster and rename it as an .avi file.

If you need help with any of this Mitch I'll be happy to help

mitchables 11-22-2006 08:38 PM

Mad love and rep (if I don't need to spread any around) for Blitz and Downunder.

And Ogen too, because the Audiobook deal was fantastic :'(

Downunder 11-23-2006 02:38 AM

I still haven't watched it :'(
