like how they built Tatanka up as the super babyface trying to rid the WWE of evil sellouts like Lex Luger. All the kids trusted and loved the good Indian. Then they tear your heart out and stomp on it as Tatanka sells out to greed.

They did it with Rock in 98 too. good times.

Even back then as a gullible mark, I could still see that Tatanka heel turn coming a mile away.

Nah, to me that was a very well done heel turn at the time. Great stuff back then.

Luger had only just turned face, and was receiving the sort of mega-face push Cena's been receiving for two years. There was no way he was going heel and joining DiBiase, it just didn't feel right even as a markish kid. There can't have been many people who didn't smell a rat when Tatanka randomly declared that Luger had "sold out".

Lost in all that was the fact that, DiBiase was the man.

It was a good angle. Another awesome thing Tatanka did.

It didn't make sense. Tatanka knew he had sold out. Luger knew he hadn't. I love Ludvig Borga to this day.

Of course it made sense. Tatanka accused Luger of selling out, Luger denied it despite the evidence to the contrary. Then *WHAM* Tatanka heel turn. Great misdirection.

I remember actually watching that PPV and getting legit swerved. Then when I got home, my friend left a long-ass message on my answering machine marking out, giving the poll results, etc
